BtS multiplayer in OT

Do you want to play Civ4 BtS in the following games? (see OP for details)

I like both davo and shane's suggestions which is why i like the no tech trading thing.

To me it also increases the playability of the earlier ages too (your not building your first axe by the time you have machinery and civil service).

Sounds good. I will have BtS as soon as it comes out, but I may have around a week of internet down time in September due to moving into my new uni digs (No longer do I rely on college to supply and selectively block my internet :D). If thats not a problem, count me in. If it is, then put me in the 'holiday cover' section.

By the way, I've found it works very well to have a separate non-playing 'referee' in games that I'm running but am also playing in. Whomp did an excellent job of that in the CivIVor: Warlords game. If anyone is familiar with multiplayer but won't be playing in these games for whatever reason, I'd really appreciate it if you'd consider volunteering for referee.

just a few minutes a day to play your turn. basically everyone has ~ 24 hours to play their turn. once everyone is done, the turn will increment. if the time runs out, players who haven't played yet will have any queued orders carried out then the turn will increment. So that way if you have a nasty hangover for an entire Saturday, just make sure you have had your build queues and worker actions queued up ;)

Don't worry tubby wont be scaring you with booze much more, he'll be going back to his c3c forums ;)

I translated BCLG's message for those interested :p
hi pot... this is kettle. Your'e black

I have to say that without active diplo anyone trying to win as a SP is doomed.

Either we make no tech trading or have teams so that those of you less skilled diplomats can have a chance against those of us who can somehow talk our way into a power alliance have a chance. :p

I'd rather have 'no tech trading' than teams. Team games make you feel poressured as well that you have to do what the rest of the team wants, single player mean what you like:D

What davo said. We've already got one team game going and i wasnt particularly fond how the starting positions for that turned out so i like the idea of single player/no tech trading.

If we got enough interest we could have 2 player teams- like whomp and tubs want to do for one team and perhaps team up a lesser experienced MP'er with a more so one.

Well, since I'm undoubtedly coming into the tournament as the top seeded player :mischief: , settings and what not make no difference to me

Just to be clear, a big MP game and a tournament aren't mutually exclusive here. It is probable that I'll be able to host both.
