Notice that Levee does not need to be built in riverside cities, so it is not like Hydroplant. Consequently, it will provide bonuses as long as there is a river in the fat cross anywhere.

At least this solves the problem with Dutch dikes, since you do not need to build them in coastal cities with access to river, I suppose.

It replaces Cuirassier (sp?), not Knight, so why not.

It's already nerfed by moving it back in the tech tree. The main benefit is bonus vs melee after all so it needs to come out earlier rather than later to be effective. Gunpowder requirement just seems a bit excessive imho.

Oh god Now i SO NEED to play the game

Thanks for the Garden and Baray! :)

Garden will be good after all and that's fine news. Bablyon should be a strong civ given its time-honored pedigree in the series.

Baray? Not seeing the utility there. Rather disappointing. :(

Yeah, the Bab Gardens is cheap and cheerful (haha).
The Baray is +1 food, which is very useful, because food can be converted into anything.

The Baray isn't horrible...give the additional food a chance. That's another mine you can work, maybe. And quicker growth to larger city sizes.

The Levee does need to built in riverside cities. just like Hydroplant. The civilopedia doesn't mention that (in both cases)

The Dutch dike can be built in riverside cities and in coastal cities.

Jep i think the Spanish where nerved, no more killing sieges, moving back Conquestadors .....

The garden seems to be nice and Cottage spamming is more then ever a worthy thing to do, those Levees on a finacial Leader with towns on swampland should get max C8-F3-H2 out of it makes all your river tiles worth of a cottage... no need for watermills anymore....

Ahh and btw Late Game switches from grassland, no river towns, to workshops with Caste and state Property will be nice on large Landmass Civs. So you need only one dedicated Production City early game, for Military production, and later convert the Citys....

edit: And from me a big cheer to Watiggi for making my day. Great Job

I think we should all offer a big "THANK YOU" to Watiggi for doing this. He really didn't have to do it. Plus, if it weren't for him, the forum would likely have degenerated into an uproar over the disparity and lack of information for non-Aussies. :D

Check out the thread on State Property and the Caste System...the specialist economy is still alive and kicking.

I agree whole-heartedly. I am going crazy over here without the game, and if I got it a day early, I might stop in for a few minutes to post a "got it!", but otherwise would leave Civfanatics out in the cold. No offense meant, though. :D

So, Watiggi, thanks again for delaying the satisfaction of playing the game to share some info with us losers. :)

Hear, hear from me too. Part of me feels like like trawling the shops later just to see if I can get a copy (I can hear myself now saying "well it's out in Australia"), but what's the point? It's not out yet. Can't be bothered to play Warlords either (well maybe just one last huge marathon game;)).....thanks again.

The Summerian early Courthouse issue: The first two are from Summeria and the last is of another civ.
