Well, I'm new to Noble so just going to post this game here and any advice would be really welcome!! :)
Spoiler :

This is the starting game and the two corn seems really useful. Two plain hills above will be helpful with hammers. Think I'll settle on the spot. Will update soon

Going to research Mining followed by The Wheel.

Just settled my second city. The are to the Northwest of the capital is empty so I'm not in any particular rush to settle cities there yet. Location of second city gives me access to horse and clam and it's a costal city so it should come into some use as I feel there will be continents in this map.
Spoiler :

Below is a whole bunch of plantation resources so first aim is to get ironworking so I can chop the jungle down and afterwards beeline to Calendar so I can make use of all the useful resources :) Have a feeling I may be isolated!

Spoiler :

Edit: Just ran into Hateshput so not isolated after all. She's ahead of me in points at the moment and has founded Budhism.
Edit again: Being the idiot I am, I completely forgot to take into account the border popping so I think I may have to take a detour and research Mysticism first. *facepalm*

You should build the Pyras :)
While many advice newer players to avoid wonders, here you would give up your best play by far by not doing so. You have some nice food + prod. around, and stone.

PHI works great with them, and you can learn what specialists under Rep. can do for you much quicker than cottages.
I've browsed thru your other thread, and you say falling behind in tech often later is a big problem.
Well, here is your chance avoiding this ~~

Well, poor Hatty just had a lone warrior and archer guarding each of her cities which I kept an eye on with my scout before a barbarian killed it! So I immediately started building a stack of doggies to get her off my land and around 20 turns later, I now control the holy city for the Budhists and the Jews! :D

HOWEVER, my economy has crashed and I seriously may need some help here and possibly/probably have to take a detour on my path to Calendar!

They were built REALLY quickly! Sadly they're gone now :(

and I have a feeling I've fallen quite behind already

Really, for this to work Revent, you should play short turnsets and wait for advice before each round. You've just gone off and played a lot of turns with no input. Therefore, our advice is more reactive than proactive.

Also, post saves for each reports. Screenies are nice too, but the ones you provide aren't doing that much for me.

While comparing the date with teching of Math is concerning, your economy doesn't look that bad. However, I don't know what you have teched up to this point.

This is semi-iso (well it was), which provides some challenges in terms of tech trading/trade routes. In this case, you want to unfog all coast and send a work boat scout out to make sure there are not connections to other AIs/land. Possibly someone on the other side of those peaks.

Oh...and Currency is usually always the answer to your problems. Find a way to get it asap. Most important tech in the game.

Oh okay, thanks! I'll do that from next time! :)
Yeah, after maths, I ended up going for currency ASAP and believe it or not I won my first noble game!!!!!

It was a matter of using a GS to bulb astronomy so I found all these guys way before they could even reach me. (Frederick, Julius, Mao, Gilgamesh and De Gaulle) They were spread on two continents. I decided to take out Julius first as he was closest so I beelined towards rifling hoping to use my liberalism for it, but that didn't work out so I used it to get Economics to get the free GM so I could upgrade all my CR mace's once I got to it. But by the time I got to Rifling, my force wasn't strong enough to take out Ceasar :p: So I decided to rush towards corporations so I could build Infantry. Infantry Vs Rifleman = Julius capping to me. Frederick was at war (losing) to Gaulle so I took my chance to take him out and cap to me quickly rather than my original plan to get Mao who was annoyed with me. Gilg was friendly already so when it came to building the UN, I had 3 people voting for me and I won :D :D :D :crazyeye:
