[BtS-WoC] World of Civilization - Modding Standard

i_diavolorosso, in th words of bart simpson "icrumba". Not sure what causes that. Is this 1.20? Do you have any of the bug mod installed? What is your install path? Have you turned any modules off or modified WoC 1.20? Can you post a save game and zip up your WoC 1.20 so I can look at it?
 
Rockinroger, this is the graphical error I spoke of. Happens in every game and I left everything as default. When I did finally replace the vertical_symbols.dds almost nothing showed in the city tiles. Hence all my questions,
 
It might be your video card not being able to handle the amount of stuff this mod offers. If the video card gets hot or tries to process too much info, the screen will freak out and lock the computer up.
 
i have never had an issue with this mod or any other mod as far as video goes. Mods such as next war advanced which change far more things. If everyone is not experiencing this problem them im not sure what i can say that will get it fixed. I can still play but when a settler is built it can get annoying when its selected (the game turns on the terrin display automatically while settlers ares selected.) Also with this error it is rather annoying when you go inside a city.
 
I can confirm this is video card related. Well it is most likely. I have three computers. My computer never locks up it just shows the screen shown above. The video card is an older one, but it is good. ATI x1900 Crossfire 512MB so it should be able to handle this graphics. It doesn't do it on my laptop becuase of its video card is 128 MB POS, it isntead shows a white box. It doesn't even try. :)

My wife's computer is newer and it works fine. She has (NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS 512MB). I am going crazy trying to figure this out because I want to play this mod and test it out, but with it like that I can't bring myself to do it. My family like to play together and I know my son won't be able ot play with it like that.

I will try to turn down all of my graphics settings. We need to figure this out because we can't expect our players to have or buy a new video card just to play it. I will try my lower graphics settings and see what goes on.
 
I tried to lower the setting and the mod never even loaded. :)

I think part of the problem is that the game only shows three icons and has to decide which icons to display. I tested by putting a river down and the icons in the city changed. I will check that link a bit better and see if I can't find any issues. I will also try to advance my own agenda and try for a much higher yield display.
 
RockingRoger, what if the creator of that madule used a single graphic with a number in the middle of it to display what eash thing has in it. He is trying to show the FPG + health, blueberries, and probably some other things. If he uncluttered it that might help the graphics loading problem.

If you could hook me up with the creator maybe I could work with him to help resolve this. Is this the guy you send me that PM about?
 
I am playing the mod just fine on my Vista Ultimate 64x with an Nvidia GeForce 9500 GT.
 
WOC is fine Rocky... just tell them to stop using their Etch-A-Sketch and buy a real computer! You got a Virus and want to do a system restore Elucidus? JUST SHAKE YOUR LAPTOP AND YOUR PROBLEMS ARE SOLVED!!!! ;)

Ok, SERIOUSLY, this revolutions mod is annoying! Nobody is unhappy, but I get that damn trumpet sound EVERY FREAKING TURN NOW AND I HAVE NOT EVEN DISCOVERED THE COMPASS YET!!!!!!!
 
Honestly Rocky, it detracts from it. There is NO way to stop those damn trumpets and I have not waged war or anyone, I am making money, and I even switched religions as they wanted. I have tried rejecting and accepting and nothing works.

I will say that as a Visa and WOC LOVER, this mod is making me want to play that boring ass Star Trek mod again!
 
go to single player/custom game and scroll to bottom look for this.
