Live 4ever! Or die trying
sisiutil - a 1.25mb game save! No wonder you were having CtD issues. Of course BAT raises the bar some by having more graphics, but I am pretty sure that stuff isn't included in the save.
I hate to say it, but I'm somewhat disappointed in the stability of the BAT mod. By mid-game of a huge map/18 civ game, I was encountering crash-to-desktop on just about every turn. . . .
I eventually abandoned the game...![]()
I didn't care for the many changes to civ colours.
I didn't like the tile graphics, but then again, I'm an old coot that doesn't like Blue Marble either.
I'm going to try out the BUG mod on its own to see if it's any more stable than its cosmetic counterpart.

It looks like I'm encountering that problem. Where is this file and what is its exact name?The latest version in SVN (1628) might have a bug in it. If you disable PLE and exit the game, the interface might not reload for you. Easiest fix is to edit the PLE ini file and change 'enabled' to true. You migth also try deleting the PLE ini file - that should reset everything.
I'm working on a fix / correction.

I forgot to add--I really appreciate how responsive and helpful you guys are.
Nope, that results in a CtD when I try to load the game. *sigh*If you want to continue that game, uninstall BAT and then create a folder in your Mods folder with the same name: "Mods/BAT Mod 1.1". Since there's no new DLL with BAT, this should work fine. You may need to create an empty "Assets" folder inside that new folder.

; Custom Art from user folder is not loaded
NoCustomArt = 1
; Custom XML and Python from user folder are not loaded
NoCustomAssets = 1
Sorry, too late, I've uninstalled both mods. I'll try them at a later date when these bugs have been worked out. Seems too much like a work in progress at the moment.Bummer. I just verified that this procedure works when I do this for BUG Mod 3.5.1. I've been out of the BAT loop since I'm still running 3.13. I suppose we can just expect everyone to be running 3.17 at this point, eh?
I'll update to 3.17 tomorrow and test out a) your save and b) if doing the above should work.
Just to be sure, do you happen to have any modifications at all in CustomAssets? Can you open the file "Mods\BAT Mod 1.1\BAT Mod 1.1.ini" in Notepad and make sure the following options are both 1:
Code:; Custom Art from user folder is not loaded NoCustomArt = 1 ; Custom XML and Python from user folder are not loaded NoCustomAssets = 1

And I get the following erros when trying to play stock BUG from SVN as a mod (the mod folder's name is BUG Mod, therefore this should work):

Note to myself: Always change CvModFolder.py and CvModName.py when updating my mod folder's name!
I'm pretty sure I just had the standard versions; the SVN requires special software to even access the download links, right? When I saw that, I backed off and went standard.Out of curiosity, did you install BUG 3.5.1 or the latest SVN snapshot? 3.5.1 is completely stable and shouldn't cause you any grief. People running Vista and/or CivGold/Complete have sometimes had trouble, but we've been able to solve those issues pretty quick.
If you grabbed the latest SVN snapshot, and Ruff's post about a possible bug applies only to the SVN version, you're drinking directly from the firehose! The SVN is our work in progress. I highly recommend sticking with 3.5.1 if you have a low tolerance for occasional hiccups.
Anyway, I've gotten a lot of enjoyment out of your threads over the past two years. I'd be happy to help more if I can (feel free to PM me and we can IM to get it straightened out), but don't sweat it if you aren't interested at this time. I just hope we get a chance to redeem ourselves in the future.
When I tried just running BUG on its own, I had no interface.I tried uninstalling/deleting both mods and reinstalling them (with the same tweaks again) and encountered the same problems.
