Bug reports and technical issues

in SVN:
During autoplay for japan on 3000BC start I was asked wheter I wanted to take control of Byzantium or not

I am pretty sure Mongol UP does not work -- I got the message of growing Horde -- but not a single unit joined me. Not even the next turn!

I don't know if this is me being stupid or if this is an actual bug, but I was playing in the SVN as Romans and was trying to build the Great Wall. I got construction, but no option to build the Great Wall appeared in my city screen. I waited a few turns and still couldn't build it, so I went into world builder to check if anyone else had built it and they hadn't, so I don't know why I couldn't build it.

The Great Wall also requires Confucianism (to make it harder for Rome to use it as a cop-out).

Was the city smaller than size 4? The UP only works from that size on. But I corrected that the message is displayed regardless.

Yes, you right, city was small but message kicked in anyway... I really like this UP! Now .. if you only could make it so that European/Russian cities generate ethnically more appropriate units, i. e. Lancers...

Meant to do that anyway, good that you remind me of it.

I play with the latest SVN update your Mod by Great work!!!

Nevertheless, I noticed four minor mistakes:
1) as Iran, I could not hold a gold trade with other nations. annoying.
2) the Iran UHV condition "6 open borders with Europe" fulfilled even with already 5 open borders with European Nations.
3) In Mali condition "Most of the gold in the world" submerged nations still count as a rival in the standings.
4) The text for the unique power of the Thais' Power of Emissaries "will not appear on the menu.

Thanks, and welcome to the boards! :)

I've heard similar reports, but it's difficult to track down. Does the problem persist when you reload the game after you've switched?

2) the Iran UHV condition "6 open borders with Europe" fulfilled even with already 5 open borders with European Nations.
Thanks. The display didn't include England so you likely already had 6 open borders, it just wasn't shown correctly.

3) In Mali condition "Most of the gold in the world" submerged nations still count as a rival in the standings.
Thanks, corrected.

4) The text for the unique power of the Thais' Power of Emissaries "will not appear on the menu.
Corrected as well. Next commit might take a little, though.

I have it just tested with the Iran.
If I reload the save file, then the gold trade works fine. Good to know ;)

Okay, then it seems it's one of those "civ switched" bugs that plague the game since RFC vanilla.

You mean the UU? It has been replaced by Orang Laut.

- it comes with Compass and can cross capes (sail to Europe)
- it has even chances against privateers
- it can make money blockading ports just like privateers

And pirates are a real problem for most civs without frigates.

Yeah, and Indonesia especially because you can't really make it to Frigates until the first Privateers appear.

Just to elaborate how I settled for the current UU: I was searching for something seaborne that actually benefits them, and found these (with different states, of course) in RFCA. My ideas for something that would be useful for Indonesia was an early caravel or a privateer replacement (because the Orang Laut were a people active in both piracy and piracy control), so I combined both aspects.

Twice now I've sold maps to Civs (China and France), and both times my relationship with them DETERIORATED. I have no saves or screenshots or the like.

Yeah, that happens sometimes (usual BtS as well). Apparently you've made a trade that disadvantageous to the AI.
