Bug reports and technical issues

You can't use the UP in your initial 2-3 (not sure) turns. It's to avoid exploits like never founding Rome and conquer yourself Athens or something as capital.

Not sure if its supposed to happen, but the Seljuks collapsed to independents, around the same time the Turks arrived, also they seemed to have a stack sitting on a hill doing nothing. Also, when I switched to Thailand, my settings were reset.

Yes, the Seljuks collapse if their capital is taken or they're reduced to two or less cities (it's similar to Byzantium while it was a minor civ).

Don't know what's up with their stack, were they attacked by someone in the meantime? Thing is, if they already control the whole Middle East and have no threats to respond to, they still won't attack cities outside of it (I told them so to avoid giant Seljuk empires in the wrong parts of the world).

And the setting reset is an old problem of the civ switch mechanic, but now that you say it I'll give it a quick look to see if it's fixable.

That was probably it, looking back at the history of the game they controlled all of the mid-east at one point

I didn't want to make it any longer than it already is, but maybe it's a good idea to have it show up as one of the game hints during the loading screen.

When you start the game as England there is a grammatical error on the dawn of man screen. It says "Their new unity is only but the first step gain rule of the waves and bring English superiority to all lands of this world." There should be a "to" between step and gain.

Btw I really like this feature of having unique starting text for each civ.

Thanks, corrected. I stole the individual dawn of man texts from SoI, so you can thank edead for the idea :) I think they could be better on some occasions, though, maybe I'll give them a little polish soon.

I updated my SVN and then loaded my save and still only one condition in the UHV text. :(

Ok weird, after 1550 and I accomplished the first UHV condition (which is pretty easy imo, since C-town starts with minimum two wonders) the rest of the conditions magically appeared.

Suggestion: change the UHV condition to some number (3?) of Islamic wonders, more difficult and imo, a cooler condition since it then is a condition representing the transformation of the city from a great christian city to a great muslim city.

Also, what exactly is required to control the Black Sea?

You're supposed to make Constantinople the capital (and get a two wonder headstart) and build two extra ones (the historical choice would be Topkapi and Blue Mosque).

You need to culture control every tile adjacent to the Black Sea (diagonally counts, and I see two of those in Russian hands in Moldova).

My fix isn't committed yet.

I've had this before, but couldn't reproduce it. Will investigate.

remember that thing code preventing a city from getting the fourth ring before a certain tech? I think something is a little funky with it (used a GA to hit influential)

Huh? That really shouldn't happen.

I took a look in the SYNTHESIS thread and I recognized that a lot of my problems in my last game actually stemmed from the Foreign stability category. Do you have any thoughts on how to fix it so it isn't as painful for every civ?

I definitely plan to do something about this, but I'm not sure about the particulars.

How about halving the current Foreign penalty to make it more in line with how RFC vanilla was?

In terms of # of civs->Foreign penalty ratio between this and vanilla.

That was my first thought as well, but first I'd like to verify if the common theory that this is caused by cut off contacts with the many new civs caused that.
