Bug reports and technical issues

In my 3000 BC game as France, I started as the Romans and then swapped to the French when they entered. I saved and then reloaded it later today-- there was no bar in the bottom right with the names of civs I had encountered. Every time I advance a turn, I get a ton of error messages. Any idea what's wrong?
Also, most error messages contain "PlayerBeginTurn" as part of the error message.

On further testing, it seems to be a problem with loading saved games in general on DoC. . . I made a game on 600 AD France and when I loaded a save I had the same problem.

Did you do it between SVN updates?

I can confirm Rorgloin's bug. The same exact thing happened to me with a 600 AD France start SVN 571. I started the game, saved and left civ 4, then when I loaded the save to continue the game the scoreboard was missing with no way to get it back. I think this may be a kink with the recent addition of BUG (which looks and plays wonderfully BTW). I've attached the save file where it happened to me. I hope this helps!

Leoreth, could you make the city bars (the bars with the city name, food progress, production progress, and city size) normal size again? or is there an option in BUG I'm missing?

Edit: Apparently this "Wide City Bar" thing is part of the BUG mod.
Can you tell me how to disable it?

When the BUG Internal/Financial advisor is disabled, on restart you cannot get into the Internal/Financial/F2 advisor

edit: Also, disabling the BUG religion advisor will remove everything from the religion advisor. When you click on it, it brings you to an empty advisor screen and you cannot leave it; you have to reload the game.

There's not an option to remove it because it is just some art files (I was confused because the city bars are drawn in the DLL).

Just delete Assets\Art\Interface\Citybar. I think I will do the same because it looks kind of weird.

Thanks :)
Throwing my vote in to make it default to not have it. Maybe add the Wide City Bar thing as a small module?

It already exists as an independent mod which is completely compatible with DoC.

See. Convenience.

Is anyone else also getting bug messages involving beginplayerturn after loading a save? No new civ will then enter after reloading

I suddenly cannot reproduce the loading bug anymore. If you have saves that have that problem, please upload them here.

Here's a save with the bug in a game I started in SVN 571, I just opened it in 573 and the bug is still there.

Ah, didn't see that, thanks.

I know where the error comes from but I don't know why.

It has something to with saved Python variables. My current theory (hope) is that something prevented them from being correctly stored in previous revisions. Do you still encounter the problem in revision 573 with a game that was saved in the same revision?

Yes, 573. It'sthe 3000 bc scenario

During the turn loading various error message spawn.

Yes I do. Here's a save of a game I just started in SVN 573 and it has the same issue. It seems to work fine when starting the game from scratch but not if you load it mid-game. Same issues as before, the biggest one being no scoreboard.
