I played a Byzantine game just now, I founded Orthodoxy through the Apostolic Palace construction, but the holy city was not Constantinople. In fact it wasn't any city in my empire, it was Aksum in Ethiopia !!

Is this meant to happen or is it a bug ? I'm still at version 1.11 .

Yeah, I've seen this too. And I posted in the OMG thread. Something must be wrong there with the code.

If so, the bug is that the game tells you that you have founded Orthodoxy (does it?). Because if you build the Apostolic Palace, you are obviously on the Catholic side of the schism.

But then, game-wise, who else besides Byzantium is going to build the AP? The Romans? And Byzantium is Orthodox anyway.

So no results popup is shown? It worked for me in strijder20's save. Can you share yours?

I don't have the original game anymore, but I do have a save to use. After some experimenting with it, it appears that the problem only occurs if you're given the option to influence someone else's vote. For example, in the save I've provided, asking to settle unoccupied land will work as intended, but requesting Warsaw (and thus being prompted to influence America's vote) will prevent anything from happening after the votes are cast.

My games seems to crash a few turns after the congress. In this save, it's a few turns before the congress. If you play through the congress and afterwards, it will crash. This has happened multiple times already.

Actually it didn't say that I founded Orthodoxy. So is the mechanism supposed be at random ? or does the civ which build the AP never gets the Orthodox holy city ?

The latter one, I suppose. I think Orthodoxy will be founded in Constantinople if the Romans build the Apostolic Palace.

It can happen under specific circumstances, mostly when most civs are dead.

But yeah, usually you will not found Orthodoxy when you build the Apostolic Palace, but a civilization closer to the heartland of Christianity (i.e. east of you if you're European).

I've retryed to play Italy from a previous very old save (1480) but the game crashes again, this time in 1823.
I think that it's impossible to win Italy UHV because of game problems with Italy....
I add the last save.(the name is wrong cause i've overwrote a previous save)

Restart from 1805 save.
Changed my history:
-Iran became a vassal of mine
-Researches trading
-Changed research path from combustion to biology
-Made peace with Turkey

it always crashes in 1823.

Before the game crashes i hear the sound of an explosion (the same sound when you bomb a city)... I think that 1 civ is collapsing and that's way the game crashes (maybe Turks?).

I add the last save too...

I hope it's a problem that you can resolve... I'm Italian and i'd like to win Italy UHV....

I don't think the crash is related to Italy specifically, the collapse in the same turn is the more likely reason. I'll take a look at the save.

In 1822 spawns Brazil. Can it be related to the crash?

I just discovered DoC and - full of anticipation - downloaded the 1.11 version today.

Sadly the mod doesnt start - The error message references to the cvgamecoredll.dll.

What could be the Problem and what can i do?

Are you using a Mac? The mod is currently only compatible with Windows.
