Bug Reports and Technical Issues

Hey Leoreth,

The bug is in SVN 894/897. Regent/Epic. Mongolia, 3000 BC. It's the never ending turn bug, I think satan1000 posted the same thing on the previous page. Thanks for looking into it.

EDIT: Sorry, the savegame was too big. I put it into a winrar file

I can't think of anything else that might be wrong.

Russia is not one of the civs you can disable in some of the files before startup.
Do you have a save for the turn before the Russian spawn?

No unfortunately not. I always leapfrog two save files when I play but the Russia spawn was too many turns backs. Oh well thanks for the help, sounds like I will just start a new game.

I have some time over the weekend and intend to look at the crashes then. I won't touch the neverending turn bug for now, sorry.

And a question: Is there still a rule that a nation can't reborn in less than 10 turns or something?

That is exactly the rule.

The picture says it all  or are there a different kind of mechanics what is a "reborn"? I have almost the latest SVN.

Also, any news about Athens not being on Turkeys's spawnarea?

Any chance you found what's wrong in my save? Normally I'd just start another game, but it happens in every Russia marathon game I play at exactly 1036 AD.
The last commit fixes your crash. Save should remain compatible, in case it doesn't, you can salvage the game by creating a Catholic holy city somewhere via WB.

CTD upon reaching Phoenician UHV. :(

I downloaded the newest SVN version as of 14.12.2014.
Sorry that I get back to this so late, but I could click end turn until I've won the UHV without any crashes.

Alright, do you think that any revision in between now and fixing this bug will break savegame compatibility? Just wondering, I'm thinking about starting a new game but I don't want to waste time. Thanks again.

I'm not planning anything that would break compatibility, but it'll still be a while until I will get around to address this bug, so unless you can somehow get around the problem from an earlier save, I would recommend abandoning this game.

I'm really sorry, but the last time I tried to do something about this, I lost an entire weekend with no progress.

That's great, thank you!

The display of the first spanish UHV in the victory screen is bugged as long as it's not fulfilled. It works though.

The Hagia Sophia does not count as World Wonder for the first Turkish UHV, making it (nearly) impossible to achieve the first UHV. I don't think it is intended to build another WW next to Blue Mosque and Topkapi palace.
And I would suggest to move the deadline for UHV 1 to 1500 AD (5 turns later). Would be more historical and make the UHv a bit less luck (very weak Byzantinum or an GE) dependent.

:goodjob:

In what way does it not work?

Isn't the current deadline 1550 AD?

I mean 1600 AD instead of 1550 AD. Mea culpa. Blue Mosque was finished in 1616 AD so it would fit historically and as said before would make the start a bit less luck dependant.

If shrines shouldn't count as World Wonders you could alternatively set the number of needed wonders to 3 instead of 4. Or is it intended to build another wonder?

On spanish UHV 1:

It just looks weird in the victory screen. There is no line where the red X should be as long as you don't have fullfilled it. Just cosmetic. You will see it if you look at it ingame.

I was just playing a game as Phoenecia and around 600AD the ivory south of Carthage disappeared. Is it supposed to do this?

Yes. There are no more elephants in north Africa nowadays.

The trigger for the first Protestant UHV is bugged.

I aim for this victory in my actual vikings game. Researched Liberalism in 1400 AD and took Printing Press for free, founding Protestantism.
I am absolutely sure no other civ has researched Economics or Constitution (checked per WB).
Could it be a problem that I researched Liberalism before becoming Protestant?

Either Theosidian Walls or Hagia Sophia is not counting as a world wonder in capital for Turkish UHV

Only shows 1/4

Hagia Sophia (or other shrines for that matter) don't show up as world wonders.

Tried it the other way round this time. First discovered Printing Press (the normal way, not with Liberalism), switched to protestantism and then researched Liberalism. First try I choose Constitution for free, second try Astronomy. Result is always the same: The first UHV is immidietly failed. As wrote before I am absolutely sure no other civ has discovered this techs (checked with WB).
