so i just tried another game and ran into a CTD when babylon built the great wall... based on my earlier error report, it seems like my art defines stuff must be messed up. ill try reinstalling and see.

edit: i reinstalled and still got the same CTD's for both games.

any ideas?

Those are innocuous errors (the artdefines ones). Which version are you on? If you are on the beta, and have a minidump, link it. Otherwise, try the beta version.

i downloaded the whole thing today, so whichever is on the main page, in the link under "Community Patch Project Full (EUI Version)".

if this is the beta, where is the minidump that i can send? for the first bug, i posted several of the logs, as requested on this thread's front page. i'd be happy to post whatever else you need.

I looked at your logs, but I was on my mobile, so I was out and unable to respond. The logs are clean, though I would make sure that you cleared your cache. Also, you've confirmed that EUI ended up in the proper spot in your DLC folder of your main Civ install?

The beta is in the beta thread (it's from today) - you'll have to do some manual downloading to do it. It gets a little hairy, but I think you can do it.

  • Download the CP, CBP, EUI-CBP Compatibility file, and EUI from the beta folder linked in that thread.
  • Put the first three in your MODS folder, deleting the existing ones first, and the last one in your DLC folder, deleting the old EUI.
  • Then, delete the LUA folders from the CP and CBP mods. Clear cache, and you should be good to go.

It isn't savegame compatible with old saves, just FYI.

Perhaps not a bug, but I'd like some clarification.

I had a road directly connecting my 2nd city (Shanghai) and 3rd city (Guangzhou). Villages built on the road were getting the connection bonus.

Then I built a 4th city (Nanjing), and connected that to Shanghai. Villages between Shanghai and Guangzhou lost the connection bonus.

I understand having multiple roads between cities probably shouldn't count, and that the game might not be able to differentiate between a direct connection and one that passes through other cities. But is this really ideal behavior?

The route from Beijing to Shanghai is shorter through Nanjing now, so that is the city connection path.
 
On the latest beta build of CP, religious pressure seems off. On standard speed it seems to be alot less than the normal 6 pressure per city. More like 1 or 2 per city.

1st Edit: Made a mistake. Religious pressure isn't bugged as I originally thought. Sorry about this post.

2nd Edit: Sorry once again. Played a bit more with the latest CP beta build. Disregard what I said in my 1st edit, I think there actually is a problem with religious pressure. Some cities are giving off pressure of 6 which is what it should be. But I've also noticed some cities only giving off pressure of 3, which I believe should be impossible. The minimum religious pressure of 1 single city on standard speed should be 6 and not 3.
 
I recently installed this mod and I started a game on the Communitas map with the normal settings and everything worked fine. Later I then set up a game on the Communitas map with the Terra option (where all civs start on the largest continent) and for some reason the game crashed when I tried to start the game. I cleared the cache and relaunched the game and after re-setting up the match the game once again crashed. I have no idea what the issue is besides maybe that the Terra option is bugged and isn't working. Thanks.

Could I please get an answer for this?

Beta version pressure element is a WIP (ilteroi rewrote code and needed balance assistance). I think he's working on it.

Sorry, missed your post. I'm not sure, honestly – if other users can confirm the crash, that's something, however it may also be a localized issue. Try the basic terra map and see if it crashes as well.

A couple of questions about Barbarians:
1. The first is probably the most important. I have not seen any barbarian ships and that is even if the camp is located on an island.
2. Inland camps will spawn at most 3 barbs, but they will all hang out at or around the camp. Mostly I see the camp with two barbs stationed inside the camp and one that will wander no more then one movement distance from the camp and then right back towards the camp the very next move.
 
Couple of crashes with 12-6 CPP right on turn 1 for both.

Alright, i erased all the mod files, i cleared my cache, i downloaded the beta, installed it, put the UI_bc1 folder in the DLC folder, cleared out the appropriate LUA folders, and ive played 190ish turns in my current game. i have been having a CTD pretty much every turn for at least 50 turns... unless i clear the cache beforehand. somehow that seems to prolong it for 1-3 turns. world congress has been founded, so it has nothing to do with that. it seems to happen during the zulu's turn, if that makes any difference. I also do have all 6 items from the beta activated.

Any clue what's going on?

ill post a few files (as before) but i still have no idea how to get you the minidump file (ie where it's located)

Look in your base civ install (where the civ exe is located) for the minidump.

Well, I have bad news - the minidump crashes to disassembly, which means that the crash isn't happening in the DLL itself. Make sure your civ install is up to date (Verify the integrity of the cache), and remove any unused mods from your MODS folder.

I'll keep investigating.

yeah this is getting weird... i deleted everything, all mods, all saves, all local content, all folders, etc. zero trace of civ5 on my computer. i then redownloaded it on steam and tried scramble for africa and got a CTD with that. so it seems it has nothing to do with this mod, which is good. however, i have no clue whats going on on my end or what i can do, since the game doesnt work anymore. i guess i'll have to report it on the appropriate main game forum, or even steam. its weird, because ive never had a problem before, though this is my first time playing the game on this new computer...

anyway, thanks so much for you help so far. when i get all this resolved (hopefully) i'll drop back in to say hi haha

Oh no! Well, best of luck! I'd recommend a GPU driver reinstall and/or a windows clean-up (i.e. Glary Utilities or CC cleaner).

Gotta say 6-12 runs really smoothly, I did encounter a couple of bugs relating to trade screen, one of them is a major inconvenience:

1) Trading for DoW is somehow bugged. Several times when I tried to click on the "declare war on" menu in the trade screen, nothing happened, even though we did both have embassies with each other. This obviously does affect gameplay.

2) Sometimes AI will still approach me to trade and offer a Luxury, I already have in my trade network. Buggy, but a minor issue.

1.) Were there valid targets? If so, post your lua.log?

2.) Post your AIdiplomessages log.

I can't load game from inside a game, I have to retire or exit to main menu first.

This might be a mod conflict. I know that FlagPromotions for CPP breaks the load button - perhaps you're using that one?

If the AI completes a world project like the World Fair before your turn comes around you contribute zero to it.

Kind of dumb since the player always goes first and so even if the player has 10x the production of the other civs, as long as it's completed before it gets to them they can't do it.

Found out on 1v1 with Genghis Khan when I did the World Fair at end of game and even though I set all my cities to production focus and woorked on it it ended before it got to me.

I'm pretty sure this has been addressed in one of the more recent versions, but perhaps it needs more adjusting. What version were you playing on when that happened?

Found a bug. Imperium (second policy in Authority) gave me a settler… with no ability to settle cities. CBP v.13. All following settlers also cannot do it.
Never mind, this was due to being very unhappy.

I'm just curious: did you eventually get the settler after taking the policy and then fixing your happiness above -10? Or did you have to reload, fix your happiness first and then take the policy?
