When i'am wrong at this, Gengis may correct me ;).
Otherwise we should decide between a small wonder and an army.

:eek:Wha?!? How did you remember that??

I didn't think anyone read my longwinded bable I call a turn log.:lol:

I've read a lot of turnlogs from you, so i'am used to the longwinded bable ;)

Seems that Abu feels somewhat omnipotent, considering his war declarations on everyone.

Its unfortunatly that our silk TF failed, but it doesn't surprises me very much. AI's on islands sometimes amass a lot of troops which make landings quite hard. And the TF not surperior in quality or quantity. Lets talk about silks again when rifles and cavs are availible in sufficent numbers

Turn 7 - 1170 AD

Suddenly we're at +192gpt...and people are willing to trade us medicine. We're 16 Turns from Steam Power at 20% reserarch.

... we had to retire from Medina, but we will be back...

Change NY from Army to Cavalry (We need units...)
Forest chop cuts Halle's Bank production by a turn

=====
IBT - aside from the usual Spanish unit movement and Arab galleys, Joanie has sent an expeditionary force of her own to the future "Longboat Key"... only one Galleon, but a couple of ironclads and a frigate
Atlanta Cathedral>Cav
=====
Turn 8/1180 AD

Diplomacy Check
Mongols will sell us Medicine for 600g+130gpt. Though Joanie offered us the deal for 764g+122gpt, but I don't want to add any more fuel to the forest fire that is the French Science Machine.
The lovely Isabella (the only Industrial AI that lacks medicine) offers us Free Artistry, WM, 33gpt, and 60g. I take it.
Do a little gold deal w/ Joanie 18g for 1gpt; something worth 80gpt runs out with Joanie in 3 turns.
Bismark will offer 20g+13gpt for any tech. I sell him Free Artistry
Vironicum, Pisae, Ravenna, and Bremen are now Persian. :eek:
Ratchet Science up to 30% for Steam in 10.
Forest chop Des Moines, University in 10 turns (was 11)
Put a musket in Great Falls, Upgrad a knight to Cav
Wake a couple of Knights in Rockaway beach, Upgrade them in South End
Wake the Knight in Cd'A and move to Des Moines for Upgrade
Wake a Pike in Des Moines and move toward Cd'A
====
IBT - The usual Spanish Troop movement, and a former Persian city is now a lovely shade of French Pink (or mauve, or whatever that is...)
Halle Bank>Cannon
New York Cavalry>Army
Spokane Cathedral>Musket
Cour d'Alene Bank>Library
New Bedford Market>Bank
Wilmington Aqueduct>Bank ... seems there was a food problem there...

The French have captured Tyre...or maybe sacked something and founded Tyre, it's size 1.
=====
Turn 9/1190 AD
Diplomacy: Nobody will trade Steam, Joanie has over 3,000 gold :eek: I trade her 18g for 1gpt
Something funny here...Steam went from 10 to 8 in the IBT...must have been the Banks and Markets we completed...
Shuffle some workers toward Wilmington, they'll irrigate next turn.
Reposition some workers for railroad duty...
=====
IBT - Persia and Rome have signed a peace treaty. (Already? Ceasar is a wuss-boy)
The usual Spanish Troop movement
East Rutherford Market>Courthouse (12)
Cleveland Aqueduct>Market (MM cit to get it in 15 not 17)
Brownsville Cavalry>...what?!?!?! a REGULAR Cav??!?! :smoke: >Cathedral
=====
Turn 10/1200 AD
Diplomacy Check...Cleo and Caesar have signed an embargo against the X-man
mm a citizen in East Rutherford to cut 2 turns off Courthouse build...do a little forestry
Move some Cav towards Cleveland...
=====

I'm a little torqued about Medina. Not because I wan't successful, but because I sent the ships away to get reinforcements. As it stands, I was able to recover the settler and 3 Knights. Not bad, but I should have been able to recover 2-3 more units. My apologies, I did not play that part of my turns well at all.

I did manage to get some improvements moved along, particularly some economic improvements. The next better player might want to check to make sure I didn't sacrifice growth too badly. I tried tinkering with some specialists, but it didn't seem to do much good. I also managed to take a pretty good whack at the jungle around East Rutherford.

Techs: two dead-end MA techs, but I did manage to get Medicine, which is a stepping stone to ToE.

@ Gengis, Yoshi (I can't remember which of you guys is next) here are a couple of notes:

After the second attack on Medina failed, I tried to regroup. I moved a Galleon back to get some of our units off Abu's shores, and sent the rest home. I have tried to put things into position for a second attack.

Our Sword Army, some Cav, and what's left of TF Medina are in Cleveland now. The Knights (2 Elite) have healed. I was tempted to build a Galleon in Cleveland, but after the aqueduct was completed, it really needs a market.

If you take Science down before the IBT, you'll have enough cash to upgrade some Knights. You should be able to reassemble an invasion force to go after Abu. I recommend something in the south that can be reinforced more easily than Medina. We just don't have enough Navy to go straight for Medina with enough units to hold off Abu long enough for reinforcements to arrive, IMO.

Science is at 30%. I hope this doesn't run counter to our present science strategy, but the only way I could have purchased it was to sacrifice our entire Economy. Since Izzy is the only Industrial AI behind us in tech, there aren't many opportunities for secondary brokering of a tech to recoup the investment. Rome and Germany are WAY behind, and frankly, their economies are in the crapper.

I also hope that the wars are slowing the AI down a little in tech. Everybody but Rome is at war with somebody.

Well, give a game to Scout for 10 turns, and it'll be a different game when you get it back. (That link is the 1200 AD Save)

Don't worry too much about medina. I think we all underestimated the arabs. Seems to be a common american problem ;)

But why press so fast on the landing? I would wait till we get rifles and go for the entire island instead of only one small city. IIRC happyness wasn't a big problem during my turns. Well i see you can't wait to impress the ladies with it :lol:

Well... the ladies seem to be pleased with the party so far! :D They're all being polite, though I suspect Joanie has plans to have herself elected party queen...

Ah, french ladies...
Well, that for sure is typical, the "working girl" syndrome.
(but I still don't understand why she has shaved her head)

knacki! How dare you insult the chaste Jean D'Arc! She happens to be going through chemo. :lol:

@ Bugsy, Yoshi: You guys are bad... real bad... :ack: :p :lol: I guess this is what happens in an SG when somebody waits through a whole weekend without posting a 'got it'. (Not namin' any names here, but his initials are Gengis Khan...)

Not bad, only evil, sometimes :devil2: A 'evil gentleman' sounds better than a 'bad gentleman' after all :evil:

;)

Did you notice this all is :nospam:

:rotfl:

Yes, Count Dracula was a gentleman. :devil2: An evill gentleman

It seems like chicks did the 'bad boys' more than us fine, upstanding young men :D

Or is he still working on the longwinded bable he calls a turn log ? Well actually the longer the better, since all of u guys have quite some style in ur writings, making these SG all the more enjoyable for us poor lurkers :worship:
And Bugs, no offence, but I feel so sad not beeing able to admire the magnificience of the hairstyle our so lovely Jeanne, whose beauty is obviously unequalled (even if there's quite a competition in this game). Isn't she the most perfect ambassador for my country ?

No offense taken mon amie. I have to step into the role. :D

I dunno... I'm rather fond of Beaujolais Nouveau myself. :beer:

Ohh, ummm got it. :blush:

[edit- Not my fault though, I'm in 8 SGs with these slackers! How am I suppose to remember I follow Yoshi in this one, Gorm in VS1, Bede in Annka6, and Bugs in Di1.;):lol:

Not to pick a nit, but you follow me in ANK 06 too. :lol: You'll find that most team captains will want you after me to clean up any mess that I make. :D
