Bugs 3 – 2150BC
First, do our French lurkers a favor
Before...
After...
Pre-flight check:
Sorry, I think Reims is in an awful location. IMHO we can keep it for now, but should abandon it ASAP:
Next problem: We’re horribly behind in techs. At least two Civs know Map Making! Barbarian Galleys…bet they got it from huts, even for Sid this tech pace is impossible otherwise. The Oracle is already built

, and that by Persia, who don’t even start with CB…SGL?
Orleans needs more shields; stop irrigating the Cow, change to Mine. Switch Reims to Warrior, and Lyon to Worker instead.
We’re running 30% Lux solely for Lyon, our worst city…can drop that to 20% by working high commerce tiles.
Disable ‘Cancel Orders for Enemy Combat Units’ and ‘Always build Previously built Unit’.
Hit Enter.
Lyon Worker-> Curragh
Turn 1: 2110BC
Contact Portugal – they’re up BW, Pottery, The Wheel, WC, Writing – but lack Masonry and CB

. 2 Furs, no resources.
Any selection of 2 Techs for Masonry and our 229gp + 7gpt is an insult.
Pyramids are already built; since they don’t know CB, I don’t think they have lots of contacts, so I trade Masonry for Pottery and 7gp. The Wheel would cost us everything we have, and Writing is not possible.
Turn 2: 2070BC
Surprisingly, Lux can stay at 0% with Orleans at size 3 – the road to it completed just in time.

Rome is on the same landmass as Portugal; sorry, really didn’t expect that.
IBT:
Reims Warrior-> Warrior
Turn 3: 2030BC
Contact Rome – luckily, Portugal didn’t trade them Masonry (they know the same visible Techs Portugal had). Spot a Legionary, thus they must have IW. Portugal has CB now.
Buy CB for 245gp and 5gpt.

Mistype first, and offer 15gpt (we’re making only 11gpt), and it is acceptable???
Grr…cannot get any 2 techs from Caesar for CB and Masonry. Take The Wheel and 30gp instead of BW or WC and 60gp.

we have 2 Horses, one in the N, one in Orleans expanded borders. Switch Orleans to Temple. We have absolutely no chance for the GLib if someone pops it from a hut anyway, hopefully all huts are cleared out already…
Turn 4: 1990BC
Rome has the gold we paid Portugal, wonder what they sold them – must be something behind Writing.
That can’t be true! Aztecs are on that very same island also, and still lack CB and Masonry.
Get WC and BW for Masonry and CB. I want to clear out our treasury anyway, since I want to pop the hut with the next city
Rome and Portugal are up HBR/Writing/IW, Aztecs Writing/IW
Turn 5: 1950BC
Monty has HBR now as well. Spot 2 Aztec Slaves, must have been at war already.
Turn 6: 1910BC
IBT:
Paris Settler-> Settler (Granary?), Reims Warrior-> Worker
Portugal starts the Lighthouse
7-1870
Turn 8: 1830BC
IBT:
Lyon Curragh-> Curragh?
Turn 9: 1790BC
IBT: Orleans Temple-> Palace
Turn 10: 1750BC
Zzzz…except for Emerita being a pile of rubble now

(that was pure luck, a few turns earlier, and we wouldn’t have contacted Portugal)
Settler should found on spot. Keep the Warrior out of that city, in case we pop Barbs – if they want our 14gp, they can have it.
Palace is due in 43 currently (we will never have enough cities in time, but corruption will go up). Writing in 1.
Wow, Aztecs aren’t much ahead of us in score and power…
