C2C Advanced Civics 2.0

What planet have you been living on? :eek::eek: Also, being a bit less rude would be appreciated

Oh, well a lot of people on here are atheists. My bad. I was joking when I called you Marxists. Sarcasm doesn't translate well to the internet, I guess.

Still, I think that the Communist civics are biased. Switching to them gives you less gold and gets rid of trade routes, but your society is happier :hmm:, healthier :hmm:, and more productive :hmm:. Seriously, one of them increases production by 50 percent. Good God. Surely even hardcore socialists concede that capitalism is more efficient than any regulated economy?

Its a game with only so many dimensions. Free market gives + commerce and trade and beakers and stuff, so communism gives efficiency and hammers as a counter balance. Its not necessarily all about realism. Its about balanced gameplay more than anything.

Well guys, I'm Back
I know, I know, I was gone a lot longer than I thought I would. But anyways, after playing a bit with this new version, I'm glad to see it include my modmod!! :clap::rockon::dance: (I was loosely following the forum still, so I knew it happened ;) ) But as I understand, there has been many questions regarding the new civics:
-I'm now bankrupt! You're civics take away way too much gold! A: Well, yess. Maybe you're right. However with my playthroughs, I've always had an abundance of gold, (Sorry Joseph!) even in prehistoric. So I went about reforming civics to make them more expensive. Did I go overboard? Maybe. Let me know!
-You're biased! Atheism/Planned is too powerful. A: Now listen, I'm not an atheist nor a commie, but my first goal for these civics was to make them balanced first, and realistic second. Some things indeed do NOT make sense, but for the sake of diversity and game balance, are added that way. Sgtslick says it for me:

-My files for X were found among you're civics list. A: Yes, some files I added to my modmod. An example would be the "Field of the Cloth of Gold" required Nobility, but I changed it to require Monarchy, placing it in my files.

So, I have gotten a new computer. It should be able to let me actually finish my games now, and drastically reduce many of the CTD's I received. I have come up with a few new ideas for this mod, and I will share them within the next day or so. I'm liking what I'm seeing :goodjob:, glad to be back :rockon:, and will now continue updating the civics once again. :yeah:(somehow...)

A big welcome back to you. What took you so long :D:lol:

@CIVPlayer8,
1st, Welcome back. :)
2nd, Why did you have to put my name in your post?! :p
3rd, Slavery is Still OP! So is Atheism. No balance there at all. (you got more work to do on those "favorite" civics)

JosEPh ;)

We have been talking about splitting slavery off into its own civic since it does not really fit properly where it is.

@CivPlayer8 welcome back. Can you look at this as it needs fixing for the next release. Also talk to Koshling about getting update access to the SVN so you can maintain the civics.

Thanks! Because you used to say there was too little gold. :) And yes, I'm aware slavery is OP. However I'm planning on putting it into its own category. Atheism, yes, it might be.

Will do. :)

@CivPlayer8:

One thing I did do recently to civics was to cut in half all of the RevIdxSwitchTo values, on AIAndy's recommendation. Other than that nothing much has changed with civics since you left.

Thank you, saved me the trouble. :)
Also, thanks to whoever added in the two pictures for Patriarchy and Matriarchy. I think the King and Queen fit perfectly.

To the point that the "majority" has to play patty cake with all of them or get Labeled with names like Hater and other derogatory names. Which seems to be the politically correct thing to do of course, letting minorities get away with name calling and slander Instead of just saying NO.

JosEPh

I suspect that extremists such as creationists drive people away from religion because they see how ridiculous the theories are. I come from Israel, and and we have about the same percentage of atheists, but the number of believers is growing rather than shrinking.

HUH?
Here is a brand new poll on religion, 1 out of every 5 Americans now dont believe: (48 million) And growing.

Is this another case for minority rule in the US?

JosEPh

B I N G O, be careful "buddy" its against the law to discriminate against a minority . . :lol:
[offtopic] sorry

OK thats enough here , i was just giving JosEPh a little jab is all and jj, so no biggy, lets get this back on topic thx.

In Aus there aren't all that many atheists because we all put in the census that we were Jedi's LOL funniest sh1t ever

On my drive back home I was listening to a lecturer whose position was that Atheism is just a "cult" of Christianity. His arguements were quite good but I still can't figure out what buildings such a religion would have in game.

But can't one be Atheist and not even know of Christianity? I am sure at some point in history in parts of the world that were not exposed to Christianity yet could have naturally become Atheist to whatever religion existed in their region of the globe.
