C2C: Maps & Scenarios

This is going to be a double post, but I figure it would be best just to start a new post, after using the WBcleaner which is the saviour of my soul, and using the uncleaned files as starting location reference where the units are on the plots... we should have a lovely map to play upon.

Should load up, should work, everything seems to be in the starting locations after I load up.

So, good luck and have fun...
Hints, tips and suggestions are more than welcome.

I'm going to play on the map now.
If my monitors serve correctly, the game consumes ~15-20% more RAM on my system on start up on my laptop. (C2C itself only 3% more~)
8Gb RAM.

So, that's my warning.

1. Loaded them up, they were in Rome. No evidence of them in Portugal
2. Didn't notice Russians in Italia, Russians seemed to be in the Moscow area.
3 - 10, similar to the Russians and Romans, seem to be in the spots I set them.
11. I put there for a better start, as the tundra in southern Mexico did not look the most hositable, put for a better start... I can always can it. XD
I'll look at the Aztec again in the future if people REALLY don't like where they start.

It would be best if you can post screenshots for me, or open up the file and type out the starting location of x and y of the respective player (AI or actual human player).

Code:
BeginPlayer
	Team=0
	LeaderType=LEADER_SALADIN
	CivType=CIVILIZATION_ARABIA
	PlayableCiv=1
	MinorNationStatus=0
	StartingGold=0
	[B]StartingX=45, StartingY=38[/B]
	RandomStartLocation=false
EndPlayer

In bold is what I am looking for.

Pretty sure he means the Malinese, from my loadup of the files I posted, should be in the area of Timbuktu, which also gives them the best position to build the Mali culture.

Need more confirmation.

Yeah, i know the Lower Sioux, version 20 will be located in Minnesota, that's where i live.

Plus 90% of them i have there are brand NEW units.

Push 'Print Screen' in game, should be located in the screenshot folder of Civilization 4, Beyond the Sword. For me, it was located in 'My Documents" under 'My Game' in the 'Beyond the Sword' folder.

As for picture hosting, I use my account of photobucket.

Currently made the map with the SVN, so if there are any new civs added since V19, then they were added.
Personally, the Lower Sioux were a nice touch to add, as it gave something in between the 'Native Americans' further West, and the Iroquois located in the East.

Look at the attached, all you have to do is click on Manage Attachments and upload in JPEG format (only because its easier).

Probably it is the problem because i not have the last SVN.

And thy for help posting;-)

Try updating to the latest SVN, because that's the only difference between us I can find. (At the moment, maybe there is a problem I can't see yet)
Loads up well, and I notice that Russia (in your screenshot) doesn't want to settle when Cathage seems to be on its way to making a stone thrower (a turn or so in)

@strategyonly
Does it load properly for you? No rush, but I'm trying to pinpoint the problem, is it the scenario itself or the versions we are using? (Since you are talking about the Lower Sioux, I've been assuming a 'yes')

Since I am rather new to this mod, how many changes have occured in the current SVN from V19? Rather big that would cause this occurance?

v20 will be out within a couple of days I think. Suggest you don't worry about it too much until then - effort spent on working on finding incompatibilities with v19 at this point is moot.

I like the one high up in the Andes and the two in the Great Victorian Desert in Western Australia.

Yeah I don't know whats up with that. Generally it would be ...

- Great Barrier Reef (Australia)
- Caribbean
- Baja California
- Near the Galapagos
- Red Sea
- Gulf of Oman
- Between Madagascar and Africa
- Off the coast of Somalia
- Near India and Sri Lanka
- All the way down the western side of Southeast Asia to Australia
- Northern New Zealand
- Most of Polynesia, Micronesia and New Guinea
- Hawaii
- Taiwan and Southern Japan

Hmmm, a final clean version for V20 then? Any more suggestions while I go cleaning this up?
(Classes will eat a lot of my time until Thusday, so I might get a start on this again in the evening on Friday)
Resource placement? (Additional spots?)
Minoan Cow (Somewhere in the Aegean) and Morracan spice?

Edit:
Settings

Have Barb civ on for the 5 civ start...
turn it off for the Pre Columbia, but keep on Revolutions. I'm going to be doing a playthrough as the Byzantines at the moment, because I have a wee bit of Byzanto-philia. (The history is interesting)

50 turns in: THe Lower Sioux have conquered the Native Americans (minor civs and no city razing, Pre Historic start)

Is this map bigger or smaller than the 28 civ one that there is in the SVN version?

Its Genghis' Giant Earth Map, with the resources and terrain (that I've done so far, playable if your computer can manage it) from C2C.

The 28 civ one in the SVN is 'Huge' from what I remember, the GEM is considered 'Gigantic'... so much much larger.
Pre Columbian has 38 civs to choose from, pretty good, close to historical start locations although the Aztecs are in one of the areas they could consider being 'Aztlan' (and looked to be a better start than the area they are usually in) although I might move them further south and along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.
The Vikings are in the area known as Stockholm, just to give them a decent chance as well. The Chinese are in Xian, or Chang'an which is considered one of the 4 ancient capitals of China , where Qin Shi Huang held his court and the area of the Terra Cotta Army. (Excerpt from wiki on Chang'an, "Xi'an became a cultural and political centre of China in the 11th century BCE with the founding of the Zhou Dynasty.")

Definitely willing to move around more unknown civilizations around, like the Native Americans in North America because they probably moved around alot anyhow, similar to how I can move the Germans and Celts if I really need to.
