C2C: Promotions

Then who added the buttons for the Chemical I, Chemical II and Chemical III promotions?

The icon/buttons for Radioactive Shells and Fusion Shells promotions should look like the one in the picture in this post.

All i can find is that i added the Btns, ?? Look at current SVN(attached), the RS/FS haven't been touched since 1 Oct 12??

No biggy i can change them. (but if they weren't changed then what do you want?? i am confused here??)

SO you also changed Radioactive Shells and Fusion Shells promotions! :wallbash: They should have stayed the same. They looked fine. But now you have the Chemical ones for them. Now you made them the same again which defeats the purpose of making new icon/buttons for them. :crazyeye: Please change those back but leave the Chemical ones with the new icon/buttons. Understand?

Those two are in the modules/promotions/RadioactiveShells folder and point to the graphics chemical1.dds and chemical2.dds.

The in-game promotion tree isn't exactly that user friendly due to the missing search function.

Are the promotions condensed in one file, or are they split across multiple ones? I've found quite a few xml files with the term "promotion", so I'm not sure about that.
I'm currently thinking about writing a parser for those .xml files (which I wouldn't have to do if there already existed such an info).

Well, I was looking for some "promotion paths", i.e. beelining for a specific type of promotion. For example, which promotions do I have to take for maximum movement, or which to gain multiple attacks per round.

Currently this is only possible by knowing which promotion does what, and then looking up this promotion in the pedia, which simply lacks the search function (i.e. search for +movement).

However, if the promotions really are cluttered all over the place, I really have to think about that.

Koshling already made one of those a year or so ago. If you go back in the main C2C thread to June 20 or so of 2011 you can still find them, unless he deleted the attachments.

He did send me the source for it though so if he doesn't mind I can just upload that here (I've made a few changes to it, but not much).

There is a program which will take the XML and produce a csv file suitable for loading into a spread sheet. It already collects all the information from all the files scattered around c2C. maybe it will help see link in the Modders documentation thread.

That's the one I was talking about above. It isn't technically a parser (it uses the built in .NET parser and calls methods from that) but it does what he wants.

This is what they should look like. Note this screenshot was taken from C2C v27 so it was before we changed it.

OK now i figured it out, the btns that you gave me had the SAME name of the ones that you didnt want changed (rad/fus shells) but were was changed because of the NEW btns, thats all, again no biggy, is now in the SVN for a Fix, thx.
 
Cant remember where the other discussion was abut Heroic I and II but i like the OLD way alot better. Just like my Warlord is getting the HI, i like that.
Whereas now i dont even see any unit with it, except this one or cant even get it??

What do you mean, the old graphics or the old stats?
 
Well, Heroic II requires Combat IV and Heroic.

And the prereq for Heroic is Promotion_Leader.
Stick a GG to your Unit and you can get Heroic.

Yes but thats not what Heroic is intended for, i believe?
