C2C - Transhuman Era

Added Intelligent Economy

ersonalised adverts - similar in style to those seen in the film Minority Report - are becoming widespread by the end of this decade.** Microsensors embedded in posters and other outdoor media can identify people by the chips in their mobile phone, credit card and other personal effects. These adverts are then customised depending on the interests and lifestyle of the person in question.

Pairs of ultrasonic beams - targeted to intersect at specific points - deliver a localised sound message that only a single person can hear. This means that even in crowded situations, the adverts can be made personal and unique.

Civil liberties campaigners decry the use of such technology, given the anxiety and paranoia resulting from such marketing tactics; but the demands of business win through.

Added Gene Therapy
(x87, y19)
Moved gene Enhancement x90

Gene therapy is the use of DNA as a pharmaceutical agent to treat disease. It derives its name from the idea that DNA can be used to supplement or alter genes within an individual's cells as a therapy to treat disease. The most common form of gene therapy involves using DNA that encodes a functional, therapeutic gene in order to replace a mutated gene.

The combination of stem cell research, synthetic genomics, nanotechnology and other breakthroughs has led to cures for a wide range of illnesses by now - including AIDS/HIV, the majority of cancers, motor neurone disease, arthritis and diabetes. Although Parkinson's and Alzheimer's have yet to be fully understood, dramatic progress is now being made thanks to reverse-engineering of the human brain.*

The growth of information technology in medicine has played an enormous role here. Ongoing, exponential gains in the scale, capacity and price performance of computer hardware (doubling annually) have transformed the ability to scan, analyse and decode the human body.

The tools to reprogram the information processes underlying biology are gaining a further boost from the growth of strong AI. This is being used to greatly accelerate research efforts. Automated software programs now combine the subtlety of humans with the speed, memory and knowledge sharing of non-biological intelligence.

Visual Graphical Interface

Requires Cloud Computing And Bioinformatics AND Media Psycology
Combines:
Web 2.0 and Ebooks AND E-Ink AND Digitizing Ancient Texts And Visual Software AND 3D PC Games AND DVDS AND Websites AND Portable Electronics AND PDAS AND User interface AND Automated teller machines (ATM) AND Cell Phones AND Information kiosks AND Point of Sale Systems AND Visual Operating System AND Virtual Instruments AND HUDs

In computing, a graphical user interface (GUI, commonly pronounced gooey) is a type of user interface that allows users to interact with electronic devices using images rather than text commands. GUIs can be used in computers, hand-held devices such as MP3 players, portable media players or gaming devices, household appliances and office equipment. A GUI represents the information and actions available to a user through graphical icons and visual indicators such as secondary notation, as opposed to text-based interfaces, typed command labels or text navigation. The actions are usually performed through direct manipulation of the graphical elements.

The term GUI is restricted to the scope of two-dimensional display screens with display resolutions able to describe generic information, in the tradition of the computer science research at the PARC (Palo Alto Research Center). The term GUI is rarely applied to other high-resolution types of interfaces that are non-generic, such as video games (where HUD is preferred), or not restricted to flat screens, like volumetric displays.

3-4 Techs Left and Digital Era Redesign is Complete!

I need to check in with u guys first.
I want to add tundra colonization and sahara colonizatiOn.

Tundra is about colonizing the north and south pole.

Sahara colonization is to colonize both above and below desert sand, like putting a toy under the sand in a sandbox.

I need ur thoughts.

-watched gi joe rise of corbra
-watched aeon flux
-watched ironman2

I don't think you need specific techs for each. If anything you should have a generic tech such as "Extreme Climate Colonization". I would think something similar would be needed to colonize other planets such as the Moon, Mars or even harder to colonize worlds like Venus.

Note Its not the best name. Please try to think of a better name. Maybe using words like "Habitation" or something. Note that there are cultures that can exist just fine in the Sahara and Polar regions. So I am not sure why it would be a a future tech.

The tech(s) could make those terrains provide a lot more value. I'd like to see cities being built underwater, and if its possible, on moving ships. Both would take some serious dll work though I think.

Update
-Digital Era Redesign Complete.

Terran Battleships = Battleships that are land based. Extremely huge.
A.R.E.S Aircraft = (Abscission Recombiant Explosive Spheres Aircraft). Ill explain it

This looks more like Atompunk than a future tech.

Agree but the version jn digital area is computerized and is the "capital ship" for a land squadron of infintry,drones, tanks, and robots. kinda like the battletank in starwars 2 with the droids.

Its a mobile land military base/battleship that is amphibious.

Terran battleship ----aerial battleship---capital ship

Ill see if i can find a picture

Hi there,

Those are nice looking planets, I'm excited to see more space stuff being added to this mod :scan::goodjob:

Feel free to look through Colonization 2071 for any Bonus or other graphics you might want to use.

Also, I found that Master of Mana has made some new Terrains and reskins of Mana bonuses that would look good as planetary terrain types and minerals respectively.

Ill checkout your mod for Cyber and Nano Era goodies!

I keep forgetting Civ Complete comes with Colonization LOL!

@MrAzure

1. It was going to be added before (which is why we have the techs), but I thik we ran into a snag or something (ask DH).

2. have not reviewed yet.

3. Have "looted" some stuff from already (ex. Nautilust submarine).

4. Will have to look at.

5. Have looted a lot from already have have a bunch in mind for still.

6. Looks similar to Gods of Warfare.

Cool, well anyways Digital Era was the hardest era to develop techs for since the imagination is anchored by plausibility, and have to base most of the Techs on futurist scientific papers. The rest of the Eras are 20x easier to develop.
My question is when should I worry about racing against Version 24?

Its up to you. If you think you can finish the rest of the techs before the freeze go ahead. I know SO would like to have no dead end techs (except for the religion and alternative timeline techs). I don't want to rush you. However it would be nice to get to a point where your not redoing the techs. I would like something solid enough that I can update my online tech tree without being worried that I will just have to redo an entire era the next day.

The other factor is the multi-maps and how they work. I suspect units will be influenced by how it works out in actual testing and as a result will influence techs. Same for buildings, terrain, resources, etc. This is the main reason the Galactic era was so empty before you joined the team.

Whats a fatboy my good sir?

@MrAzure:

Could you make the following changes to the Digital Era? Note that most changes are renames and only a few are deletions. Thanks.

Cloning -> Animal Cloning
Imaginary Physics -> Advanced Theoretical Physics
Darknet Mercs -> Delete (I don't think we should do this unless we implement a mercenary system)
Terran Battleships -> Dreadnaught Design (We call large tanks Dreadnaughts)
Gen IV Nuclear -> Advanced Fission Power
Flak Cannon -> Delete (Huh? in the Digital Era?)
Superstealth -> Multispectrum Invisibility
DNA Barccode -> Fix Typo
Hive Defenses -> Microbot Defenses
WarClones -> Military Cloning
