C2C - Transhuman Era

There won't be many labs, I will start doing Buildings also help out. Right now It's he foundation buildings.

Ok, was just an idea to decrease the buildings in the list in the TH era ;)

Well besides replacement we also must consider when buildings should go obsolete (if at all). This can be tricky since many building could potentiality go obsolete by the Galactic Era.

However I don't want us to go out an try to obsolete everything either. I would like to hope as more techs get filled in we can see that X building should be replaced and/or obsoleted.

For instance most of the Automobile buildings go obsolete at Teleportation tech. Do you think the Go Kart should go obsolete then too?

Likewise I was thinking perhaps some sports might go obsolete because of the invention of Bionic Bodies and Homo Superior. Or perhaps even get replaced by new sports that can deal with new human bodies.

Yeah, that's another task to do...
So maybe if the TH era is filled in, we should spend some time to review all buildings, balance the stats, look if resource and tech requirements fit, if they could be replaced, go obsolete, get + :science: +:hammers: +:health: whatever with tech X or bonus Y etc...
Maybe we could come up with a good seperation when a building should get % :hammers: and when plain :hammers:; same for gold and science etc.

So I started a custom game starting in the Transhuman Era and these are the following buildings that need to be obsolete by the year 2000 in my opinion.

-Charcoal Burner
-Drying Frame
-Woodwind Instrument Maker

So we don't use Clarinets, Flutes, Saxophones, etc anymore? Tell that to all the High School bands. ;)

Posting so I won't forget when I wake up
Ahh, you are right! Also for Planetary Exportation you can add a Near Earth Objects Satellite (tracks dangerous asteroids heading for Earth mostly).

For Astro Environment Systems or Planetary Exploration you could add Barcodes, Space Shuttle Museum, Moon Rock Exhibit, Space Camp (for kids). Also Boneaville Speedway in Nevada Desert where they have Jet Cars that go over 500 mph,

Now this might be a Mod, but we could add modern Guilds and call them Associations.

Teachers Association
Grocery Association
Astronauts Association
Police Association
Nurses Association
Construction Association

Etc.

I don't know what the National Academic Database represents, but what about an E-Library, a Downloadable Library (maybe with just + :science: from Brain-Machine-Interface for the normal E-Library.

And my long term request: A global science database, collecting ever DNA or Protein sequence, every molecule ever discribed, every paper from physics, biology, medicine, chemistry psychology... ever published...

National Academic Database is based on Jstor, which is a place where academic journals or research papers are stored in a database so other research can research them.

An academic journal is a peer-reviewed periodical in which scholarship relating to a particular academic discipline is published. Academic journals serve as forums for the introduction and presentation for scrutiny of new research, and the critique of existing research. Content typically takes the form of articles presenting original research, review articles, and book reviews.

The term academic journal applies to scholarly publications in all fields; this article discusses the aspects common to all academic field journals. Scientific journals and journals of the quantitative social sciences vary in form and function from journals of the humanities and qualitative social sciences; their specific aspects are separately discussed.

JSTOR (pronounced jay-stor;short for Journal Storage) is a digital library founded in 1995. Originally containing digitized back issues of academic journals, it now also includes books and primary sources, and current issues of journals. It provides full-text searches of almost 2,000 journals.More than 8,000 institutions in more than 160 countries have access to JSTOR

We could have a building called Digital Libary at Digitization TECH but once the new buildings get added we will have to review.

for Encyclopedias, only a few will added there are subject specific:

Protemic Encyclopedia (Already added at Genesis Biology)

Genomic Encyclopedia (Already added at Genesis Biology)

Molecular Encyclopedia (Ubiquitous Computing) [World Wonder]
A molecule is the smallest amount of a chemical substance that can exist.

Particle Encyclopedia (Quantum Computing) [World Wonder]
They make up the inside of atoms.

Your personal request will probably be sometime in Late Transhuman or early Galacitc. I never added the last 25% of the Transhuman Era (Chronological Order) , and will have to review what techs are added. I can see about 5 more Techs added to the middle of the TH Era We have to plan it out.

Protemic Encyclopedia (Already added at Genesis Biology)

Genomic Encyclopedia (Already added at Genesis Biology)

They should both require Genencyclopedia, not Genesis Biology. I requested those wonders. They are a databse that contains every known DNA Sequence from all species and also all used "Biobricks". And Proteomics Encyclopedia is a database with the sequence, structure, binding partners etc of all known proteins (native and designed).

:) they are on Genencyclopedia. Do you have any other personal buildings?

I was thinking maybe we could just have a general one like Wikipedia that has everything.

I'd say Wikipedia is a pedia for normal knowledge. I don't think datas of Genes, Genomes or Proteins should be there.

There is a species recovery center (wonder) in sargons folder (those three are wonders designed by me). The "Enhanced Species" building is in my building folder, along with Bio Informatics Lab, Protein Lab, Nucleic Acid Lab (Could be split into RNA and DNA Lab), and almost all of the Bio-, Cyber- and Atom-Punk Buildings are designed by me.

I was wondering if we could also add individual equipment that changes scientific study.

An example, at Imaginary Physics we could add Atom Force Microscope..

Yeah, I'd love that, too, but maybe it will go too much into details.

I more into the Biotechnologic than phyics. I was thinking of Enzymes and Biobricks as new resources.

I don't think the TH era should be more detailed than the rest of the game. Well, we COULD add new eras, but IIRC there were big discussions about that earlier. And I'd prefer more general techs, like "Advanced Gene Manipulation" to represent new methods like TALENs, Crspr/CAS, Cre/Lox etc.

Enzymes should be a resource. The design puzzle is that a huge majority of technological change has happened since the birth of Modern Pc and Internet, and between 2000-2100 I would not be suprised if that century will have more human knowledge than 10,000 BC to 2,000. Technological advances are exponential, I think from 2005-2010 there has been more disocvery and tech than the last 40-50 years combined. As a gameplay perspective, how do we include that without unbalancing the game?

We have to think Abstractly yes, but this design puzzle confuses me sometimes.
