C3C Civilizations?

I'd love to see the Byzantines. There is so much overlap in the cascade of great civilizations of the mid-east and europe that one more won't bother me. That said, I like to see more asian, african and native american civs to add more flavor and depth to the game.
The controversy over Israel is unfortunate. It would be a nice addition to the game. Moderator Action: And let's just leave the controvery out of this thread, Okay? --Padma

poland[the one in the midevel ages. it at one poin was the strongest civ in europe]

nubia

Other civs that I would love to see:

Nepal: they basically creted the religion followed by the hugest number of persons in the world
Byzantium: Great art, powerfull empire.
Israel: THey had lot of relevance in ancient times and created one of the most important religions in the world, although the incorporation of a modern Israel would be polemic
Nubians: The dark side of the egyptians :p
Inca: A quite cult but forgotten civilization.
Mayan: We shall not forget our brothers of south america
Atlanteans (why not add a bit of fantasy here? ;) )

About the Israel issue, this is not a good tread to debate it Moderator Action: so don't --Padma

Moderator Action: I just went through here and cleaned out a bunch of discussion about Real World Israel issues. I'm not quite sure of the flow of it, with the server clock time warp screwing that all up, but let's leave the issue now.

FWIW, I like humor as much as the next person, but this is not the appropriate place for this kind. People take offense, and there goes a perfectly good thread down the drain.

Thread reopened.

Hi fellows, just to make somethings more clear:

a) The Mayans are a Central america Culture, so they are neighbours of the aztecs. The aztecs were sttled on modern day mexico and the mayans were settled on modern day guatemala/panama/caribean and florida.

The incas are a south american culture, one that impressed pizarro because they had just so much gold that theyr streets were laden of it. There is a very sad tale called "Pizarro at Cuzco" .

Ah ! and it it wasent for the mayans, we would have no chocolate and it it wasnt for the incas and aztecs we would have no Corn. so you pick your taste. :-)

As far as Brasil beeing depicted, i dont think it would be too good. Our only representation in the wolrd war was on the world war II, were we had the most efficient air force of the combat. (by efficient i mean: 47 airplanes total that flew just as many air strike missions as the hole usaf minus bombers).

But i know that the brasilian civ would be religious and industrious.

For religious i state only the following: there are several places here were People of 15 different religions or creeds share the same condo... so, religious freedo! and industrious because we do work alot, but theres this so much corruption... i know for sure that we are not expansionistic, nor militaristic, nor scientific... so...

wel; back on the topic.

Incas would rock. Nubians would rock, Khmer would rock. Huns would rock.

nce to be back on the phorum.. first post since last QSC (ottomans at may 5th! )

Impressed? As I recall from world history, didn't Pizarro conquer the Incas with about a 100 men and horses and some cannons. He put bells on the horses and made loud noises, and they routed an Incan army of, I believe, 10,000...or was it 2,000...that doesn't matter, he was outnumbered. I'd say they were a little more impressed with him. :)

Hi!

not impressed on the military sense, because the incas most powerfull military unity was the "clubman"... the "impressed" part is with the wealth of the incas... they were a prety wimpy band of fellows in the "bang other people on the head" part.

and pizarro had guns, and horses.... ya know... there are lots of today people who are afraid of horses and guns... :-) )

My picks:

- Brazil (To fill out South America)
- Something in Central/South Africa, perhaps Ethiopia
- Australia (I'm really hoping for them)
- Solomon's Israel

Long Shots:
- Poland
- Canada (but oh it would be great)
- Thailand (They just might slip it in there)
- Portugal
- Sweden

sweeden wont come as we have scandinavia, but perhpas we could see Denmark-Norway altough I dont think since we have the vikings. And remeber ya all that the vikings were norwegians. They kicked europes ass :)

Well said. :goodjob:

Here is what civs I would like to see in the new expansion:

Inca(South America)
Indus(Pakistan)
Ethiopia(Africa)
Assyria(Cradle of Civilization)
Gupta(Northern India)
Denmark/Norway(Europe)
Canada(Ya right, I wish)

A lot of people seem to want Canada as a civ. I just can't see them as so culturally distinct that it would make that much of a contribution to the game. I still vote for a new native american civ(inca or olmec), an african (nubian, abyssinian) one and another asian one(khmer, thai).

i see that a lot of people support the idea for a byzanthine civilization....is there a way to gave this idea to firaxis? we should tell them...they could like it.

I'd like to see Israel and Canada in there as well, but with the various leaderheads and units that can be downloaded these days, you can use these to add various different civs with UUs.

Mayans - Sci, Rel
Incas - Ind, Exp
Sumer - Rel, Ind
Hatti - Mil, Ind
Nubians - Mil, Com
Thai - Mil, Sci
Israelites -Sci, Exp
Portuguese - Com, Exp

Well, that's my guess anyhow. You must remember, Brasil, Argentina, Mexico, etc are not civilizations, they are countries made up of native (Aztec, Incan, Mayan and Spanish/Portuguese civilizations).

Portugal was originally part of Spain but because of extreme signifigance in our history they can be portraited as a civilization, same as the Americans.

I'm not so sure about the Israelites and the Thai being included, but another Asian civilization would be nice. If not the Israelites or the Thai there will probably be the Polynesians or the Bantu?

Australia, Austria-Hungary, Canada, and whatnot shouldn't be added since they were never really that power or signifigant, except Austria-Hungary because of their involvements in both world wars and the Hapsburg Dynasty which was one of the most powerful dynastys ever.

Last but not least, the Byzantines. The Byzantines were great and all but they were the medieval embodiment of the prior Hellenistic civilizations of Greece, Rome, and the many city-states of western Turkey. They would be a good addition especially since they were rather important in history and greatly influenced Russia, yet they are still a mixture of Greece and Rome. I'd rather like to see the Huns though.

Civs I'd like to see-

For historicle & fun value-
Byzantines- a VERY important power of the middle ages, plus cataphracts are cool- read my thread in the history fourms on late Roman to mid Byzantine armies for more
--------------------------------for game play value-------------------------
the Azandi- a tribe even moer ferocious then the zulu, inhabited the congo area, but early units are taken up for the most part

Plains Indians- a cool culture, and game wise would certainlly help curtail american cotenental super power on real world maps

Eithiopians- a better alternative to nubia, as it gives the egyptian more breathing room on real world maps, the only nation in africa to keep self independence from the middle ages onword

signapore- dont know much about them, but a good choice game wise

well.....maybe we should try, if somebody else agree?...better later than never, or not?

anyway...please let me know...i dont wanna start to annoy sending e-mails randomly....and i think we could be heard......

Knight_Bond007, I don't know of any specific way for you to directly notify them of your suggestion, but I'm pretty sure that considering the reasons for creation of this forum, the suggestions here are likely to be seen by some of the right people.
