Well, I've even got it done slightly ahead of my schedule! :D

If you haven't played a C3C Conquest-of-the-month before, please have a read through this post. Whilst it was for the first conquest game of the month, it has some useful info for the first-time player.

For this month's game, please proceed to the game announcement page.

Good luck, and Go The Orange! :D

woot :)

One problem, when I press the link for the predator save file, it downloads COTM_01_Predator.zip.

Mistake?

Edit: the sav file is the one from COTM1. Doh! Why must you taunt me so?

Apparently the extra challenge for Predator class includes Trying to win as the Dutch when playing the Hittites. Of course, SirPleb would still manage to win... ;)

Oops! I checked the link that it was live, but didn't check the file.

I hope you figured-out that changing the '1' to a '2 pointed you to the right file. Genuine mistake. Fixed now. :)

"File requested does not exist."

the message I get

Link leads to:

The requested URL /games/COTM/COTM_02_Predator.zip was not found on this server.

Sorry for the harrassment Ainwood

Thanks! works now, had to refresh the page.

Speaking of buggy HTML on the GOTM page, the link to the Hittite game on the sidebar is wrong -- the link is to cotm02_hittites.shtml, but the file is cotm01_hittites.shtml.

Sorry for the nitpick, and thanks for all the work you and the rest of the GOTM staff do. I'm new at GOTM -- this is my second one ever (and my first Monarch level game! :help:  ) -- but I've already noticed you get a lot of grief around release day. I'm sure you realize it's all meant with respect and appreciation for the hard work you do, but I hate to add another nitpick without pointing out that I appreciate everyting you put into these games.

I've only participated in a couple GOTM and am still new to Civ, especially Civ Conquests, but it appears to me that there is something wrong with the setup. I build Amsterdam but I only get 2 food. As an ag civ shouldn't I get 3? I had the game create a world with the Dutch and I build and I get 3. I'm playing Conquest class. I'm not complaining and appreciate all the work by the staff to provide the games. I'm just wondering if something's up. Thanks.

Is the extra food that the Ag trait gives you subject to the Despotism penalty? (3 or more of something is reduced by 1.) In that case, you wouldn't see the extra food until you changed governments.

well despotism u can only have 2 in food or shield so i believe that is true.... which is why u would want to become republic as early as possible.... i recommend researching writing then map making then code of laws then philosophy and take republic as your free tech

I couldn't quite figure out how the agricultural trait works. I did get three food in my freshwater cities in despotism, and two in those without freshwater, but the switch to republic put three food in the center of every city. This is my first try with an agricultural civ, so I am a little confused about the particulars of this trait.

I saw the same issue. In despotism, Amsterdam and any cites without fresh water were capped at 2 food; those on fresh water (river) had 3. Then as soon as I changed out of Despotism, they all had 3. Somehting doesn't add up. I also tried a quick test set-up with the Dutch in a random game and Amsterdam had three food when started beside a river.

It is supposed to work that way , there is no bugs :

You only get the bonus food from city centre in Despotism if your city is on freshwater (river, lake).

But when you change to any other government, you get the bonus food from all city centres. Its quite correct and meant to work that way.
