C3C FULL Metallic Interface conversion with complete installer

Well done! Thanks for all the work!

I've installed it, and as I expected, it looks great.
One little thing seems out of place though, in the advisors and victory status screens:
(And Eva, you still haven't sent me your email address. =X)

That file should be placed as I just tested it and it seems to have appeared in morgan linked image in post 5 ....

It will be ... exitBox-backgroundStates.pcx.
Just make sure that file is in your civilization3/art folder

and all shoud be well if not ill attach it for you.
Have private messaged you my address as well :)
Eva

Oddly enough, I had a copy of that file in my conquests\art folder. I've deleted it and that's probably it. I'll see tomorrow.

Eva, Very Good Work on this entire New Interface. A worthy endeavor that is now a complete esthetic and meritorious accomplishment that will be enjoyed by countless numbers of players. Congratulations on bringing your idea to fruition with such impressive results.

I downloaded it all and now when I go to the city screen in the game it crashes. Can someone help me, please?

Thank you! Thank you Eva! Looks great :goodjob:
I play Conquests from C3Complete.
Custom intsaller worked great after pointing to the Civilization III Complete folder (not Civilization III Complete\Conquests).
Thanks again to everyone who helped.

OKPOH :

You may have installed it to an incorrect directory.
I made a small avi movie in the first post to show you what to do.
The only other thing I can think of is your version number of conquests must be 1.22 or your version is heavily modded.

You might try a free install.
If you are going to install fresh here is the suggested install routine....

Original Civ 3 v1.0
Conquests expansion 1.0
Official Civ Conquests Patch 1.22
Snoopys terrain pack ( if you use it)
Metal interface installer. ( installed as per video)

I have done this myself to check it works and it all works perfectly.
Im playing a game at the moment and getting my butt whipped.

Hope this helps
Eva.

Erm, is it me or does the Science screen normal? The techs are replaced but the background is the original. I used the installer BTW.

You're playing on a mod apparently, as mods with chagned tech tree use different background images (because of the arrows and all that.)
Speaking of, Eva, I'm sitll waiting for an answer from you about what I asked you via PM.

Eva, this is a great graphic mod, but you seem to have missed a few files, the litle buttons at the let of the unit box, and the transport box.

Hi
Vostos : Can you get a small screenshot of the items you are talking about I just can't picture them.

Blasphemous : ...I hve just sent you an email..... :)

Blackheart : I think Blasphemous is correct with the science screens.
if you are using a popular mod I may make an installer with them soon.
Depending on interest.

Eva,

thanks for you nice mod. However, for various reasons, I wanted to return to the original graphics - unfortunately I only backed up the files mentioned in the installer. It did not say there that some files from the Conquests and PTW arts folders would be modified, too, so I obviously lost those original files now. :(
Also, the uninstall routine deletes all modified files, but does not restore any of the original ones. I know it´s not supposed to do, really, but ....

What I am especially looking for is the original "x_cycle button normal.PCX" from the PTW-art-interface folder.

Could you, by any chance, please post a zip somewhere with at least all those files that the installer didn´t explicitely say it would modify? Or could you direct me to place where I can d/l those files? Thanks!

Hi.....
I'm sorry you wish to go back to beige.
But you were clearly told that your version would be modified in the opening of the installer.
Also the buttons you are requesting WERE asked to be backed up in the installer.
I have attached the screenshoot of the file list ... highlighted in yellow is are folders were the files you are asking for were required to be backed up.As you can see the CONQUESTS and PTW folders were listed.

files.jpg

The "x_cycle button normal.PCX" was in your C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Civ3PTW\Art\interface folder. That file would have been preserved if you had followed the instructions.

To all others wishing to go back ..... please READ the installer screens before proceeding with the install.
You are CLEARLY asked to back up the folders. If you fail to do so you will have to re-install the game.

I am sorry to be blunt but this was intended to be a fun project and not cause loss of enjoyment of the game.

Maybe someone can help our friend here by attaching the screens he needs.:)

Eva.

Shame on me, Eva, and sorry - I didn´t want to blame you, it was my mistake.

Somehow I only scrolled through the first part of the installer´s backup list - I don´t know why I didn´t check properly last night, maybe because of not enough sleep the nights before...

It it still all fun, and with your graphics mod you add a lot to it. One of the reasons I was going to go back was I wanted to have them slightly modified because some screens don´t entirely match the German language version (some German words are just too long).

Anyway, someone out there who could help me find the "x_cycle button normal.PCX"?

And Eva, keep up the good work!

I did the screens s I got a bit of time here and there between other commitments.
I would say all up there would be at least 75 hours of work went into the whole thing but it could be more I never really counted.

NEW SCREEN ADDED
Actually I found a screen I had missed it is the wonder built screen.
I have posted a zip file with this screen in POST 1 ....
I missed it because I very rarely use it but I did the other day to decide which city to send my merciless army of immortals to next to get the best spoil.

Sorry I missed it in the original release.

The files must be placed in your \Civilization III\Art\Advisors wherever it is located.

Eva

It was the problem. I loaded up a random game and it was fine. Could you consider this the first request for a metallic recolor of Rhye's of Civilization Xpack? :)
