(Not sure what happened to my weeks, but I appear to be out. I expected this to be week 14.)

The Battle of Midway continues!
- BB Hyuga was sunk after hits by a heavy, a medium and a dive bomber.
- DD Lawrence strafed the Fast Transports on the shore of Midway.
DD Lawrence 4/4 vs FT 2/5; DD Lawrence 5/5 (promoted), FT 0/5.
- A DD attacked CV Zuikaku.
US DD 5/5 vs CV Zuikaku 4/5; US DD 2/5, CV Zuikaku 0/5.
- DD Golf attempts to engage IJN DD after it is hit by a dive bomber, but spears an I-Boat instead!
DD Golf 4/4 vs I-Boat ?/?; DD Golf 2/4, I-Boat 0/?.
- A second dive bomber finished off the damaged IJN DD.
- CV Kaga is sunk by CL Trenton.
CL Trenton 5/5 vs CV Kaga 4/4, CV Trenton 4/5, CV Kaga 0/4.
SS Nautilus had a clear attack run on one of the transports, but US torpedoes continue to fail!
SS Nautilus 5/5 vs IJN Transport 4/4; SS Nautilus 0/5, IJN Transport 3/4.

Two fast transports are sighted near Palau! Both were redlined by dive bombers, yet once again US torpedos fail us!
SS Perch 3/5 vs FT 1/4; SS Perch 0/5, FT 1/4!

I swear the crippled subs are the most annoying feature I've ever encountered in this game!

I thought I hadn't kept the last save but after seeing Botman's note I wonder what happened.

Maybe there are less than 26 turns in a year in this scenario?

That doesn't seem to explain it.

I looked back at some old screenshots and the turn log I keep, and what I reported as turn 12 was actually turn 14. I don't have a clue exactly when I went astray.

2 Marine divisions and 1 SNLF attack the island and capture it
( after some bombardment)!
2 Paras, 1 miltia, 1 P40, 1 B17, 1 B25 destroyed.

China:
Lanchow attacked by 2 corps and captured, 1 Chinese Inf Div and
1 cannon destroyed.

3 Chinese inf divisons on hill east of lanchow bombarded by arty and
1 div destroyed by IJA div.

2 Chinese inf divisons on NW of Sian destroyed, one by corp, one by
35th inf div.

2 guerillas killed near Mukden

- Topedo bombers red-lined an SNLF unit outside Menado, and destroyed the road into the town.

Dutch lost 4 submarines only sinking 1 japanese ship of unknown type (probably a DD).

- Dive bomber destroyed the commercial dock at Sarawak.
- An IJN DD was shelled by CA Pensacola then sunk by a torpedo bomber.
- A CA destroyed the airfield on the east coast of Borneo.
- 4 BB's, 1 CA, and 2 DD's shelled Menado destroying 2 planes on the ground.

Midway-Wake
- IJN BB Nagato reduced to 2 hp from 2 dive bombers.
- An escourting IJN DD was sunk by CA New Orleans.
New Orleans 3/4 vs IJN DD 5/5; New Orleans 2/4, IJN DD 0/5.

Hanoi is conquered by Cavalry after Air bombardement soften the defenders. 2 CW Inf units KIA.

Dutch submarines sink 2CV's and 1DD near Batavia. 2 brave Dutch Subs were lost.

Brave Chinese forces along with some brave American Infantry defend Sian against 2 Japanese Corps. Cannon, arty, and Air attacks weaken the two Corps some. So they won't be attacking at full force...for now.

Botman:
A little background info on the Kitakami:

In 1941 Kitakami was converted to a torpedo cruiser at Sasebo. This involved replacing the 21" tubes with 40 24" ones in 5 quad banks along each beam.

That's quite cool to know. I went and found a page about the ship here: http://www.combinedfleet.com/kitakami_t.htm

It's neat how a lot of the DD's and smaller ships are named in this scenario. Too bad most of mine haven't survived nearly as long as their real-life counterparts did.

Lost 1 PT Boat and 2 Dutch Subs to only scratch the mighty Jap Naval force near Indonesia.

I have yet to realize the use of PT Boats...
