I've been lurking around these forums for a while and finally decide to register :D . I remember when I use to play Civ 3 on my old 400MHz G3, good times. Now I got a 1GHz G4 eMac and bought Civ3 Complete from the Apple Store on Tuesday and got it today. I couldn't wait to begin playing but I ran into some problems. For some reason the game won't play the combat (unit vs. unit) sounds or pretty much any attack sounds a unit can do. There is also no sound when a unit moves and the animation seems to be a little glitchy. I still enjoy playing but its nice to have sound during combat instead of this mute until a unit dies...

My Comp Specs:

-eMac 1GHz G4 PowerPC
-Mac OS X 10.4.7
-RAM: 768MB
-Video Card: ATI Radeon 7500
-VRAM: 32MB

Now I need to sleep, got to addicted playing the "Rise of Rome" Scenario.

Hello, welcome :wavey:

The sound issues are old news., with several threads around here discussing them. We are waiting ... and waiting ... for Aspyr to release a patch that we know is in the works. Among other things, it will address the sound issues, improve compatibility with Windows-generated mods, and it will be a Universal Binary for Intel Macs.

Brad Oliver is the lead engineer porting the Civ range at Aspyr, and he posts here from time to time. Search his posts for the latest scoop on these issues.
