C3C v1.20 patch is out!!!

Well, was radio removed? Not really... no need to complain. In fact, it's now common knowledge of ancients:

:D

Radio has also still an entry in the civilopedia(and the incorrect information it enables building of radar towers).

I only play single player, and absolutely hate the removal of Radio. I am sticking with 1.15. They REALLY need to do some explaining on this one.

I usually defend Firaxis on these forums, but this patch to me seems to be a waste - a severe step backwards, and none of the major complaints are addressed in 1.20 that weren't in 1.15.

I hope Firaxis lets someone post their reasoning.

I doubt their reasoning is different from what I wrote 5 posts above. I like the removal of Radio. It was a useless technology in the game.

Well, if corruption is not a problem, radio will be. ;)
(Hinting that there will always be some aspects that players don't want or agree with.)

Very True. All of the changes they have done since the first release that I either did not like or did not care about they did because of user complaints. But some of the better changes came from that too. You take the bad with the good I guess. This patch just has too much bad and not enough good for me.

I just see radio as a major advancement in human history. Changing tech prereqs is one thing, but removing a major tech to me is unacceptable. If anything the tech tree needs to be expanded to include more techs, with more complicated prereqs.

I guess I am not a minimalist Civ3er.

But oh well, that is what modding is for.;)

Seriously, Radio is huge in real life! In the game it was not, but that's no reason to remove it.

Instead of removing it I would have liked to see an added effect for it. Maybe the real tech shouldn't be radio but "mass communication" and should reduce the "distance from the Capital" corruption effect. Los Angeles and Seattle are not corrupt simply because they are far from Washington DC because radio, telephone, television, and high-speed transportation make that distance negligible.

Anyway, it's just dumb that radio is not recognized as a major technological advance...

Just pretend it's included in the Electronics advance.
There are other even more important real life technologies that are not part of the game. You can't cram everything into an abstract game like Civ...

I take back my woohoo!!! :)

If Electronics was removed as a requirement for Motorized Transportation why is there still an arrow pointing from it?? I wont mention the arrows leading to and from the void. ;) *coughs*

Not a big deal but I mean come on it is a simple cosmetic change.

Delete (or rename to something else) the file: Conquests\Art\Advisors\science_industrial.pcx, and the tech tree background graphics will display properly. :)

All my complaints aside, I DO like:

* Railroads will always appear under captured cities if you have Steam Power.

* Histograph keeps tracking defeated Civs

* Implemented Allow Scientific Leaders Rule

The rest either don't affect me or I just plain despise.

Can someone post the new industrial age tech tree (one that works)?

They really need to fix this. Its weird to start a game knowing an industrial tech:eek:

I don't understand, what does tracking defeated civs entail?

Currently, when a civ is destroyed, the histograph stops calculating their score. The change brings back the way it was in PTW, i.e, defeated civs still have their score.

It was so disconcerting to me it almost made me ill. This is an outrage - how hard could it have been to install the patch and start the game before releasing the patch? I'm uninstalling this patch. Phooey.
