Well, as explained to me on the Mac forum here, Civ III Complete for Mac currently sometimes gets confused which path to follow to look for some files which can make mods crash or not work. The upcoming Mac patch is supposed to remedy this weirdness and unpredictability, so I expect this bug will be remedied by that. It sure doesn't appear to be any kind of design or location flaw.
So, what I did in order to play the game to the end was make sure I talked to everyone and made embassies with everyone else and then never pulled up the Embassy screen again once I'd met the Eoganachts. I just wanted to be able to do military alliances with others and was able to.
The Eoganachts got their revenge though. Apparently they found the Grail around 500 A.D. while I was busy wiping out the Angles, Saxons, and Jutes and had my Great Knight looking for the grail on that little island up to the NW corner. So, a Knight has to walk across the tile the Grail is on to find it. I was wondering...is the AI motivated to intentionally look for it, or does it just start building the special Knights and might accidentally find it? It would be frustrating to play again and lose that way. I SO won that game otherwise, and on Emperor.
It's a fun play and beautifully done though. Thanks again for the great work. I wish I could play with the same setup only on new/random maps. Any way to easily make that possible in another mod version?
