Hi all !

The no-mod or no "third" content is no so bad as i'm tired by the problems caused by mixing up different little mods from different authors...

The late 2014 patch is it scheduled for MacAppStore version of Civ 5 ?
I'm afraid for the idea to update to Yosemite since i have mitigated feelings about Mavericks while i liked 10.8.5, i'm regretful for not having stayed on Mountain Lion...

I can live without the two new ressources or the new scale of warmongering with CS and changed rate before Modern Era but its hard...

I would like to have an answer to my questions it would be possible ;-)

Civ i'm lovin' it !

Hi

I recently bought a new iMac with retina display - running Yosemite, of course. When I tested Civ5 on it, I was surprised to find that the Campaign Edition enabled its mods menu, and appeared to install mods. I have since tested it on my MacBook Pro, also running Yosemite, and it has now enabled the Mods menu and will install mods. The MBP definitely didn't run mods before, so something has been changed in Yosemite to allow mod support!

I have no idea whether or when the latest patch will arrive for the Campaign Edition. Maybe they are fixing it before they release it, to stop it running mods in Yosemite!?

Thank you for your answer :good job:

I have a question : have you Chocolate and Bison ressources in your Campaign version ?

If yes, patch is here...

Could be tempted by Yosemite after all...

"Artificial Unintelligence Lite" is a good AI mod ;) even without custom dll...

Thanks for your fast answer again !

I only have what I need to support Mac users. I don't play the game.

The Mac App Store version is out now, and while it seems to work pretty well, I'm disappointed to see they changed the graphics for polders. They're not brightly multicolored anymore. :(

I do, however, seem to get more detail when zoomed in. That's quite nice. (Intel HD 3000). I'm not sure if that's a patch change or a 10.10.1 change, as I forgot to check the game after I updated the OS but before I patched Civ V.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to update and see if they've kept the mod support intact for Yosemite.

Ah. Yes, they did. I had to reenable the menu again, but everything works fine.

How did you do this? I checked the MainMenu.lua file and it still has the line inserted, but I see no mods button at the main menu.

The line will still be there, but it must be commented. Put two hyphens to the left of the first character in the line. If you are using TextEdit, then copy and paste the hyphens from elsewhere in the file, as TextEdit automatically converts two hyphens into a long dash.

I've just checked on my retina iMac, and the mods are still visible on that system after the latest patch, and after I re-edited the mainmenu.lua file.

Yep. I just copy and pasted the two hyphens from the end of the line (or near the end; I don't have it open at the moment).

It should work. I suggest you check they still there? TextEdit has trouble saving protected documents.
