All of them easily.

As a NES'er you should be ashamed of yourself.

Actually, without repeatedly consulting maps, I cant place cities on NESing maps. It just seems weird. IDK why. On a blank map, I can do approximates, but not close enough.

Also, I know Vladivostok is on the Pacific coast, but I always though it was more bering strait area than near China.

 This thread reminds me of 10th grade Social Studies (European Studies), which on the mid-term exam had a few map questions, one of which pointed to the area roughly between Italy, Tunisia, and Libya: ______ Sea?

I would have written The Gulf of Sidra or the Ionian Sea, depending on where the line =precisely ended.

Got all of them. :smug:

Although I guessed on Val d'Or. Now looking on Wiki, I see I was roughly right.

Put in all 25...but I used to study atlases in my spare time as a child...so...I'm not normal.

I bolded the ones I knew:

Locate these on a map:
Happy Valley-Goose Bay
Dawson City (the only one of these I've never heard of and don't know the province/territory. EDIT: Yukon)
Gatineau
Markham
Mississauga
Sarnia

Alert
Iqaluit
Kamloops
Churchill

Val d'Or
Moose Jaw
Brantford
St. John's
St. John
Prince Rupert

Not too bad for a non-Canadian.

Well, I know where roughly Moscow and Belarus are located, but I have problems pointing landlocked areas in a map, so I didn't check them in the poll (for example, on a blank map I may point to Tula region, which is next to Moscow, but not exactly Moscow). I confess I don't know the exact locations of Atlanta and Dubai. :( I can locate everything else on the blank map, through. :)

All except Okinawa. What's that?
Island, part of the Ryukyu Islands, southwest of Japan proper. Former US base and as a result a tourist trap for japanese who wants to know a little piece of the US. The Ryukyu Islands are home to the non-japanese japonic languages.

Inspired by the thread saying 20% of Americans can't find America on a world map.

I have 25 locations, in the poll select all of the ones you are sure you know where they are. I if you would have to guess or are not completely sure where it is then don't select that option.

Poll coming...

are u sure this "20%" is not children?
If not, then holy crap we are morons -____-

I had no clue where Vladivostok was. I figured it was Russian because of the name, but it could have very well been any other former Soviet city as far as I knew. No clue what its importance was.

I knew in the general area of Somalia but I couldn't remember which country it was. I knew where Dubai was though which is pretty strange.

Those were the only two I missed. Took me a minute to figure out where I knew Belarus from, but I remembered it was the country that got hit hardest by the Chernobyl disaster and that it was north of the Ukraine.

I'd say not bad for an American :P

GAH! I only got 71/75 in Mid East
Russia......
