Why do people always demand Canada go on the Civ4? i mean, Canada is a fairly prosperous country, is very beautiful, and has a nice culture, but to be frank, just hasn't done that much anyone agree or disagree?

I personally think it deserves to be in, but there are a lot of other civilizations (can I even call canada a civilization?) that deserve to be in the game more.

Every nation with a rich history deserves to be in the Civilization series, but for Civilization IV I think they must also have a great leader as well. Who would be the great leader of Canada?

I have no idea, but perhaps someone can fit the bill?

Joe Carter. :)

This has been done to death several times in this forum, but no, Canada does not make it on the short list for Civ's. And I am Canadian, and Canada is the best place on the planet to live, but it still doesn't have the prerequistes to be consider "civ-worthy".

We have had great political leaders, like Trudeau and Pearson. We have had great scientific leaders, like Bell.
But overall, Canada has not had the same impact on world history for an extended period of time as opposed to most of the civ's on the short list.

Top 50, maybe, but not the original list.

I fail to understand why so many confuse NATION with CIVILIZATION.

Canada is a great nation, filled with wonderful people and fantastic nature, but Canada is not a civilization, is it?

(And needless to say, all the arguments as to why America shouldn't be in civ goes for Canada too, but I've had enough of that debate so I won't mention those arguments again.)

I don’t think it should be in it. It hasn’t done squat as far as world events and such.

Who keeps saying Canada should be in Civ?

It can't be my fellow Canadians, because they hardly ever say that Canada is [insert random positive, hyperbolic adjective here]. Don't believe me? Here's a short course on how to express national pride like a Canadian:

1. Read something in the newspaper about the United States.
2. Giggle at article.
3. Shake head.
4. Re-read article to make sure you didn't read it incorrectly.
5. Giggle again.
6. Sigh and fold paper away.
7. Flick knowing nod at a fellow Canadian.
8. Pull another beer out of the snow, open, drink.
9. Argue about whether Don Cherry is a prat.

That's about the lot. Anything else is nationalism.

It goes without saying that Toronto is completely different.

canada is a good neighbor, but it hasnt really contributed much to world events.

Thank you SuperSloth. Hilarious! Exactly what I was talking about in my previous post.

I think all Canadians should express the deepest pride in being a good neighbour to the United States of America!

Ha, Canada will never be in a civ game. They have even less basis to be put in than the USA...and while civs like the Dutch, Babylonians, Israelites, Carthaginians, Phoenicians and Vikings miss out, Canada should not even be contemplated. I'd sooner have Poland in the game.

Canada will never make it into the Civilization series because...

Canada is the country of the future! It's that easy.

I am not canadian (yet), I'm just a new immigrant to these magnificent lands, but let me tell you something: the way Canada is attracting the best of the world (yeah, me included...  ), plus the immense human value of this people, makes it without any doubt the country of the future.

Wait and see.

And yes, I love Canada! If I just could apply for citizenship tomorrow, I would... but ou well, I will have to wait for another 1014 days to apply....

At least I got my BC drivers licence already...:goodjob: , tough thingie to get believe me.

Greetings from the nicest place in the Earth, Vancouver (and surroundings)!!!

Toss-up between Celine Dion and Bryan Adams. :D

Now that I think of it... Alanis Morisette could fit the bill. She has "spunk" to her.
