CapNES2: The New Shuffle

For the colonial empires, how do they hope to keep their land against regional powers with so few divisions...? because wouldn't their army be spread over the world and thus be very weak in a region at any specific time? Especially if multiple regional powers start wars...

but I think capulet hasnt listed colonial reserves and all that, so thats why the army remains small, But if you were a large colonial power you are still probably able to manage your empire.

Edit: However i think the ship stats are much too low. The british fleet at scapaflow/plymouth had about 150 ships in all. (20 are small torpedo boats)

I'm re-looking over stats and I may add a colonial miltia to stats for each of the colonial powers...

well, in das's most recent nes that closed, britain (me) had a huge empire with only 20 divisions of troops and i managed quite well <_<. but on the bright side i had a huge fleet

Isn't it funny i mention this when i'm a regional power, so i would want them to be weak? @_@

Okay, I edited a couple of stats, but really just added a few more divisions, not much.

Remember, one division is about 10,000 men. You won't have any trouble controlling your colonies if you have enough men in their garrisions, because remember, your troops are much better trained than most of the locals.

I also changed the naval units from 'ships' to 'squadrons.' In one squadron, there are 5 ships.

ThomAnder: Don't stress it. :p

After a head-ache of looking on Wikipedia for a few moments, I proclaim the Spanish king to be Joseph Bonaparte II. Joseph I died in 1844, he had a daughter who died in like 1854 so she would be Queen(They removed Ley Salica before she assended the throne), there..we go. Woo for Joseph!

EDIT: I will lurk and maybe take Columbia in a turn or so

I'm droping out... The Industry points thingy? That was horrible rules :-\ (that was the reason I didn't joined that das NES that used them..)

das, I especially need to know if China's stats are right.

About right - add some divisions and grow culture by a level.

I am thinking of eliminating the industry rules, as they add a lot of complexity that doesn't seem to be well-liked.

It is pretty damn hard to go from a weak nation to even a semi-descent nations.

So what do you guys think?

I'll probably just use the NES2 III rules w/o the military support.

If you replace eco rules i'm in as France or Italy (If Panda or Jason takes France i'm Italy)

I like the industry rules, they makes things less straightforward than "Grow economy, use economy to build a huge military, conquer." Plus, it's more realistic.

Agree. With industry there is real difference in production, otherwise some african nation can become just as productive as european superpower.
