Capto Iugulum: 1940 - 1959

ooc: One would presume so yes.

OOC: When I joined as Portugal, I made sure to read as much of CI from 1900-1935, the year I started. Hell, I read CIEN too, though I can't say I remember too much. Read into the backstory, you'll get a better understanding of how this world works.

@J.K. Stockholme: The agreement will have to wait for post-1940 at this point.

OOC: so who signs my pretty new FTA with the Swiss?

I'm inclined to decline, due to the lack of provisions dealing with:
-Transnational ownership of companies.
-Arbitration bodies dealing with dumping goods.
-A customs union allowing for free movement of persons and for a common external tariff.

I just concluded the deal with NPC-Switzerland, and you've been invited to the French Free Trade Agreement dealing with free movement of persons anyway. Shall you send me a PM discussing the issues with it?

Ok, who wants an alliance/ defensive pact? Don't worry, I won't neville chamberlain you.

Again, you can't make those kind of deals until after you've sent in orders and the updates been posted. We've had issues in the past in this NES with people making all kinds of alliances, trade deals, etc and then either switching nations or dropping all together before their first update

Dropping altogether? Well I won't, but If you say so...

By Allah's fluffy slippers, you'd think it would be logical to assume that veteran members of the community had some kind of experience with player negligence and irresponsibility.

OOC: I'm just going to get on with my nation now.

I'm wondering... why Brazil got 40 EP for a couple of ships, then got paid 45 EP? That Brazilian better know what he's doing, he seems rather shady.

ooc: He didn't get given 40EP for the ships, he got offered 40EP, and then when offered 45EP chose the offer which provided Brazil with a greater cash return in a rational decision to go for the better deal. If any deal had been establish previously (I see no reason to think there was) than it was cancelled in favour of the new one with the more generous partner.

This is all pretty self-evident by the way. If it isn't to you, than I suggest being quiet and observing how things work for a while before making comments that aren't really necessary, and which could have diplomatic ramifications for your nation (such as calling Brazil shady).

All right, this is the 48 hour warning to get those orders in, and we'll be back and rolling along. Vacation is over! As always there will be an additional 24 hours to get in anything besides revisions after the deadline is up, but there is a twist this time. Due to the lengthy amount of time there has been for planning and preparation, any players that fail to get in orders for this update will be bounced from their nation.

If anyone is interested in purchasing naval or air equipment from Brazil, the following prices hold true:

Tufao II-class Destroyers for 11 EP (2 EP profit) each
Scourge-class Submarines for 14 EP (5 EP profit) each
Kronos-class Battleships for 33 EP (3 EP profit) each
Regio-class Escort Carriers for 20 EP (9 EP profit) each
Galactica-class Fleet Carriers for 70 EP (30 EP profit) each

JC-7 Jet Fighter Squadrons for 32 EP (3 EP profit) each

Just either post in thread or PM me well-before the deadline and I'll sell you stuff.
