@Pallen: As everyone else has said, Poland ceased to exist about 15 updates ago. There is in fact a map (please see the list of updates on the very first post). As for recommendations, I offer the following:

1. For a peaceful start, with builder opportunity: Venezuela
2. For a warlike start, Turkey, also has several friends throughout the area.
3. For something in between, I offer Aztlan, the Mayan Republic, Costa Rica, or Honduras.

Tycho: The Republicans won, but the Monarchy survived. The existing King will probably get the boot in favor of his son, there'll be a vote on it. Your nation was decidedly neutral and has begun blaming Spain for the great war lately. There were some proletarist stirrings here and there under the massive warfare last year, though it wasn't mentioned this year. New Zealand is a Portuguese colony (purchased from the UK some time ago), given independence after the Great War.

I have compiled an account of the army doctrines currently in use around the world.

Great list! This was fast to read and I learnt a number of new regions and patterns I hadn't seen before.

One note: Freedman 1912 isn't cheaper than Russian 1910 (which also happens to be identical to the Japanese, Persian and Roman doctrines except infantry being 1 EP cheaper than Japan, and 2 and 4 EPs in Persia and Rome (and 2 logistics less) (plus I guess high mass makes human waves a bit more effective (unless skill with large formations only means skill in reducing cost)).

Excellent, I suppose I ought to start improving the economy by increasing industrial output into ships and other such things now in order to increase money. Building and construction has always helped out the economy.

We notice your fleet does not yet have any battleships. Peru currently offers the King Juan design for 20 EPs (or 10 EPs per ship produced), but given our shared Iberian cultural heritage we are willing to cut this price to 15 for Portugal (or 7 EPs per ship produced). The King Juan-class (75 EPs per unit) is second in cost efficiency only to the Kronos design (120 EPs), designed by Brazil. The Maryland is by the UK (generically available technically, but I'm not sure if legally) to your shipyards and roughly as strong, but less balanced than the Frisia by the Netherlands.
