Somewhere outside Houston, Texas, 5:30 p.m.
Police sirens fill the air as the police cars navigate the busy interstate during rush hour. A call came in from dispatch that the suspect was fleeing West out of Houston pursued by Houston PD. Texas Ranger Francis Malone was driving Eastbound on the interstate when the call came in.
Francis Malone, considered the best pursuit officer in the nation is only 28 years old and already has her own team of Texas Rangers based in Houston, she was heading in for a meeting with the newly created Anti Terriost Unit to congratulate them on a job well done when the call came in.
She immediatly turned her sirens on, the Dodge Charger boldly challenged other cars as she tried to get to the left lane and make a U turn and head West. Headlights flashing and sirens blaring she left the Eastbound lane and entered the Westbound lane where cars immediatly pulled over, possibly grumbling at the fact that they pulled over three time already for the pursuit to pass. Malone speeds up to the pursuit, seeing flashing lights in the distance and traffic clearing up she pushed the Charger to max, barreling down the freeway at 120 mph. Upon arriving at the scene she recognizes the car as her top Lieutenant, Roger Polesky, one of Texas' greatest shooters. She curses herself and radios in to the lead patrol car, "This is Texas Ranger Francis Malone, I shall assume command of this pursuit now."
"The pursuit is yours, Ranger Malone, good luck and godspeed. This is Houston PD signing off." The lead car responded.
As Ranger Malone speeds up to the front, she notices that several cars peeled off and exited the freeway, 'Houston is going home' she thought to herself. She looks at the next freeway sign, Houston is now 15 miles behind them and they are rapidly approaching the city of Katy. She looks around, traffic is almost nonexistent as Texas Highway Patrol closed off all exits going Westbound. With her now are 3 Highway patrol cars, two Ranger cars and one persistant Houston officer. Katy PD has been alerted. All that is left now is to bring this lawbreaker down.... hard.
The pursuit has been going on for 20 minutes, sirens now fill the quiet streets of Katy, Texas as the suspect, for some reason left the freeway. Ranger Malone picked up her phone and dialed a number, the phone rings, rings again, rings again before someone answered, "Roger please surrender now. This pursuit has gone on for long enough. Whatever it is that you did I am sure we can work it out." Ranger Malone begs.
"I cannot do that Francis, I am not who you think I am. It is not just the State of Texas that wants to catch me, it is the Government of the United States of America." Pants Ranger Polesky.
Ranger Malone confused asked, "Why is the United States after you?"
"I cannot divulge this information, it is classified. Sorry ma'am." Roger Polesky slams the phone shut and speed off again. Ranger Malone frustfrated slams on the gas and races to catch up, the patrol cars behind them struggle to match the speed of the two friends. Ranger Malone rolls up alongside the fugitive and gestures him to pull over. He refuses and Ranger Malone falls back and tail the car trying to figure out how to end this pursuit with minimal casaulties.
5 minutes later Ranger Malone catches up to the speeder again on Katy's biggest highway and hit his rear bumper forcing the car into the curb and into a telephone pole. As police swarm the wrecked car with guns drawn, the door opens and Roger Polesky comes out with two police issued pistols and one sawed off shotgun. He points the shotgun at Ranger Francis Malone and said, "Sorry ma'am but I have to do this." He cocked the shotgun and officers open fire. Francis cried a little as officers fired 22 bullets into Polesky's body, ending his career as well as his life. It was later back at Houston and in the meeting that she finds out that Roger Polesky, her closest friend was a member of the Eye of God and was in fact one of their top assassins.
