have you ever eaten any animal that's canivora?

i notice that all the animal meat they sell in supermarkets are those that eat corn only. they don't sell tiger meat, or lion meat, but stuff like cow meat..... have you ever eaten canivora, or other wierd meat? what do they taste like?

btw, i've eaten cricket before, it's brilliant w/ beer. :goodjob:

I have eaten Bear, but that is technically an omnivore.
I have also eaten numerous predatory fish.
I have had the pleasure of eating a variety of "wierd meat" but most has been herbivore game animals
Moose, Deer, Elk, rabbit, and squirrel

Birds include:
Wild turkey, canada goose, mallard, wood duck, teal, grouse, woodcock, pheasant, dove

I have also enjoyed crawfish and snails

they eat other fishes, which makes them carnivores.

i've eaten that too.

but it's like a rule that all carnivores, exept insect eating ones (if they counts), taste awful.

Shark. :D

I would say humans but I only eat vegetarians.

Man has largely killed off predators, or restricted them to isolated areas in small numbers. In past they were regarded as a) competitor for prey (or in a more modern sense, dangerous to our livestock) and/or
b) dangerous to man himself

Their infrequency means many today have protected status, or are simply difficult to come by.

Also consider that unlike cows, pigs and sheep, which are easily domesticated, there are numerous hurdles in farm-raising say lions or bears. You couldn't just herd them around, or turn them out to pasture to graze peacefully. ;)

Wolves are more easily domesticable. But we've domesticated them for years (dogs) and (for the most part) never acquired a taste for them. Perhaps because the dog's role through history has inspired an emotional bond & loyalty that is difficult to break by serving them up for dinner.

I can't say that I've eaten any carnivores (other than some fish), but, as animepornstar alluded to, the meat of an animal varies in flavor depending on its diet. My understanding is that carnivore meat tends to taste rather "gamey", which is not a flavor most people enjoy. Indeed, when it comes to beef, I much prefer the flavor of "corn-fed", rather than the "range-fed" I ate while in Colorado.

I'm all for the serving of those misconceived breeds of miniscule stature, like Yorkshire Terriers. Apparently in the shrinkage of such breeds, it removed the portion of the brain that provides control of the barking impulse, leaving a furry rat that believes the purpose of life is to yap yap yap yap yap yap yap.

I would have very little difficullty in seeing a Yorkshire Terrier slow-roasting on a spit.

Alligator.

As for the small dogs, while I won't go so far as to want to eat one, I have no use for them. Cat dogs is how I refer to them. I want a breed of dog that you don't have to have a phobia to be afraid of.

A long time ago on the web I found a very interesting travel account by a couple of Aussie backpackers who made it into North Korea.

One of my favorite bits was a description of their canine feast in Pyongyang.

They titled that section "Doggone Good".

I had snake, tastes a bit like...nothing, and I have eaten dog. Puppies are fine, great meat!

Fishes don't count...if insects does, yeah, I've had some ants and other stuff with many legs...

If refering to the general term, carnivore (meat eater) often so.
If you are refering to the mamalian order, carnivora, I have had bear meat a few times.
