Catholics object to chocolate Jesus

It its nude, its most certainly immodest.

I'm sure Jesus was nude at some point in his life.
I'm also certain that Jesus has been represented nude in art, as have many other Biblical figures, in Renaissance art.

Sorry, but I am not going to stop stating the facts that I hold dear to and believe in. I don't believe that they are impossible nor made up. I have as much right to state my beliefs and opinions just as you do. I am really tired of constantly arguing with you in recent months. Especially with your critical views against Catholicism and especially the core beliefs of Christianity.

State your opinions all you want but state them as beliefs and opinions not as "facts" you can't back up. Even in your own post you contradict your self. Are they opinions or facts? By the way you write it you use fact once but belief numerous times. Beliefs are not facts no matter how hard you want them to be.

Does anyone know if crucified people were even clothed? In the time the man named Jesus was crucified ( a common punishment ) nudity wasn't wasn't the taboo it is today? I wonder if the religious people imposed their "morality" onto what would have been a naked man to begin with.

A naked Jesus represents purity, not immodesty.

:goodjob:

Exactly.

IF the person was trying to insult Christianity, let him or her do it, anyway. He or she has to deal with the Big Guy later, like the rest of us.

Ever thought that in western culture, nudity is shunned upon due because nudity equates to sexuality. I dont want to look at a sculpture with another guy's ding dong!
But nudity doesn't necessarily equate to sexuality! There are a ton of famous works of art that have nudity in it and have nothing to do with sexuality.

This is by Michelangelo:

So's this:

And this:

Da Vinci:

Raphael:

Donatello:

Together, they are the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

Sorry, I just posted something inanely stupid regaring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I then felt the need to delete it. What it was, you shall never know.

Not necessarily. It's your mind that equates it with sexuality, not the mere act of being devoid of clothing. But God forbid we are reminded that humans continue to exist through PROCREACTION!!! That's right CG, people have sex. As much as you don't want to think about it, for whatever reason that may be, there are people out there having sex all the time. Right now, even. It's how you came to be, it's how I came to be, it's how Winston Churchill came to be, it's how Charlemagne came to be, and it's how our children will come to be. Putting a marshamellow loincloth on a chocoate Jesus's johnson just because you don't want to think about it doesn't change the fact that it exists!
I dont want to look at a sculpture with another guy's ding dong!
Then don't go to Rome, and don't look at any Western art again. Ever.

Look above. Plus the added factor that Jesus is held to such sacredness and respect.

Why is it disrespectful and sacreligious to depict our savor in his birthday suit? As skadistic noted, how do we know that people didn't just walk around naked in Judea back then? After all, Israel is a hot place, it makes sense not to dress heavy, and the less the better. Jesus may very well have paraded around devoid of clothing, you just don't know.

Those turtles are naked!

The only thing insulting is the mass worship of figments of imagination.

Hmm ... did you and TLC switch accounts or something?
