Caveman 2 Cosmos

Where do I see the city latitude in game? Some buildings need that, for example the mammoth trainer. I need to put my herds where they are needed afterwards. :)

You can't see latitude until you have the right tech. I could look at the Mammoth herd and only let you build them at the correct latitudes.
 
Quick question, what settings do you recommend for someone just starting out? There are soooooo many of them. Stuff I like:
-Being able to play with my toys before they go obsolete.
-AI understanding the stuff I'm using.
-Clumps of civs in some areas, big swaths of wilderness that stays wild in others.

I'd like as many civs and as big of a world as my comp can handle, I don't have the specs in front of me (on other comp now) but it's what a fairly high end laptop was three years ago, does well with normal civ but FFH with huge maps makes it cry but haven't had it become unplayable even with huge maps just sloooooow.

No offense to you or your (outdated) laptop. But there really is NO other comparison to this mod for playing purposes. All the others a very very very small in-comparison.
But if you have that "old" of a laptop, i'd only suggest you play with 12 or under civ, on a large or smaller map. With very little water:(

Well i'd suggestion you go through the tips and other threads in that area, and se what is "best" for you to start playing as or with.
 
I also wanted to ask:

I get both "Nationalism" and "Nationalist" in one of the Civics' section. Or should it be this way?

Another thing - is there a mod, or a package with animated leaderheads for C2C (and, preferably a package that doesn't break existing savegames :) )

Not sure about your first question.

But the second: No... way too heavy for C2C and not all leaders defined here have such animations developed.

Oh, I see. I thought there was at least a partial (meaning a pack for part of the leaders), but oh well, it's good as it is.

The first one concerns the "politics" section of Civics. Along with Liberationism, Patriarchy and Matriarchy (and others), both "Nationalist" and "Nationalism" are displayed in that section (with the latter displayed at the bottom of the list).
 
There was an animated leader hear pack but it has not been kept up to date. It would help if we could figure out a way of having either or without having to change XML.

Similar to what has been done with the movies with the long and short movies having the same name there is no need for XML so keeping the pack up to date is trivial.
 
Starting from the v27 my AI oponens suddently became passive and defensive practice makets... For example when I approach enemy capital the AI bembi don't even gather forces to defend his city.

The AI is only in war with me and no other threads are near but he constantly separates his forces to defend... erghm ... to defend what ? And this random unit placement going on all the time it started to piss me off so I paused my game(as far as I want to continue I find this AI pathetic and easy even tho I am playing on Emperor ).
Also the Ai became so passive and focused on defense taht I started to feel like i am playing some tutorial. For example : The msot powerfull AI(3x more than my total gold income ) can't handle with the outnumbered and highly behind technologicaly forces of the 5 city nation... He just don't send any grouped forces , walking around with damaged stack for like 20 turns already not even trying to stop and heal.
There is alot of examples of weak military AI that realy destroys the competition of the game. Don't get me wrong, I like the MOD very much but starting from the v27 for about 200+ turns already there were NOT a single city captured apart from barbarians !
P.S. Most of the game were played at v26 and I was fine with the AI warfare but alongside with the nice economical rebalanse in v27+ the AI military suddenly became dumb. I wish you could give me some hotfix or explain what is going on ?:confused: I am realy eager to resume my game =(

Do you have Logging enabled and BBAI turned to level 3? If not, check out the FAQs thread on how to do that, and then play some with the logging enabled. Post the BBAI logs in the bugs/crashes thread and we can take a look at it.
 
Koshling is working on our military AI now so we should not continue to have a lagging opponent on the battlefield for much longer I think.

Reports from earlier versions are not actionable anyway - upgrade to latest and if it still has clear issues submit a save game along with a description of what i's obviously not doing.
 
A quick question, since I haven't played ROM for a while and it's my first C2C game with minor civs: At which tech do you change the status from minor to full civ? Or does it have something to do with civics?

Writing, as in RoM. There has been a small bit of discussion on if it should be changed but changing it means that the diplomacy stuff will also need to be changed.

It's a very easy change. In R2R the switch from minor happens at Trade, along with right of passage (since it comes with embassy, I think), embassy, and open borders. Tech trading is still at writing.

This is my note on what I did to make the change, from my (rather detailed) change log:

*** I have decided to move the shift from minor civ to regular civ from Writing to Trade when the
	"start as minor civs" game option is used. To do this, the bOpenBordersTrading needs to be moved and
	if that is moving so should bEmbassyTrading because you need an embassy before you can open borders
	(technically this is presumably not necessary - moving just bOpenBordersTrading would move the
	switch to regular civ but not actually allow open borders until Writing).

- modified TECH_TRADE
	added bEmbassyTrading set to 1
	change bOpenBordersTrading to 1

	set bEmbassyTrading to 0
	change bOpenBordersTrading to 0
	(it still enables tech trading)

- modified TXT_KEY_BARBCIV_DISCOVER_WRITING
	"writing" -> "Trade" (including bad translations, changed word taken directly from TXT_KEY_TECH_TRADE)

That's it. Two booleans in two techs swapped and an update to one text value.

Correct, but since the AI was mostly untouched during V28 development I'm assuming he should still get the issue now. And a log + save from V27 will still be useful in that case.
 
Hi folks,

now I am testing the new version on single player, custom game.

However, I forgot to turn "choose religions" of and now thats real annoying, that every religion can be picked, regardless of the technology.

I do have a very fine Map, so is there any chance, to change this setting by editing the current game ?

If you dont want to cheat No. But if you dont really care, and you dont mind the starting date to resume back at 50000, then yes.

All you need to do is, go into the WB once you started playing your game, do a Save Game from there, then re-start like your doing a new game, and look for it in the Custom Scenario maps.
 
Yeah it was working, I thought I made a previous post :O It vanished!
I said that it was working temporarily, and whilst I was playing it it was fantastic :D
