Caveman 2 Cosmos

Yes yes the brute sucks in comparison and I know it. I'll give the dude some balance factors eventually here. I've been considering making him an effective anti-barbarian, great at dodging and bonusing him (like maybe 10%) in city defense and capture. And making him a little cheaper.

He's just stuck in an awkward stage of mod development - there'll always be pockets of imbalance as new features are implemented from the combat mod - until its pretty much complete and given a final balance check. In this case, the features that were implemented that made him kinda pathetic in comparison were early withdrawal and some of the overall changes to the throwing line concept.

The brute was already useless long before this change. (Difference was the Stone Thrower was too so he had company:p).

Any little titbit of bonus you could throw him would be appreciated. Otherwise, you might as well get rid of the Str 1 melee unit and change the clubman's name to brute.

Koshling, will the new bug changes facilitating the new graphic operations (and possible removal of viewports?) require the user settings folder or a particular file in the user settings folder not be carried forward when v33 comes out?

Thanks in advance.

No, should be fine.

lol poor brute. Is it going to be buffed?

OFFTOPIC:
I took avatar from C2C icon.
Also I made signature about technology/magic, is it good enough, or I need to change something?

Well I would like to wait on tweaking anything until more of the combat mod is in place, however I was thinking perhaps the Stone Thrower to be moved to Gathering tech.

Ehh, that won't give him much of life ... I always research Gathering as second tech.
Lets leave him for now, as "don't build that, its waste of resources" unit.
Also "Spearman VS Tank" case will be eliminated then?

Compatible across versions. Continue playing your current game of C2C - just save our current game and load it in the new version. You will be asked "Should the modifiers be recalculated?". Just say yes, wait awhile and then continue your game with all the new features.

Caveman2Cosmos is a CivFanatics.com community mod that add new features, gameplay, and content to the Civilization 4 experience. It is the most expansive Civilization 4: BTS mod to date with almost daily updates since November 2010. It is the spiritual successor the The Civilization 4 mod Rise of Mankind and its addon A New Dawn, and combines the work of over 100+ CivFanatics.com past and present modders to create a mod to "rule them all". It is currently being developed by StrategyOnly Productions with a modding team made up of prominent members of CivFanatics.com.

Caveman2Cosmos introduces a massive amount of new content with massive customization to Civilization 4 : Beyond the Sword. From the the discovery of controlled fire in the Prehistoric Era to the spaceships of the Galactic Era this community mod is perfect for the player who craves very deep strategy but is still enjoyable to the more casual player. Be warned, with this much content this mod may take almost 100 hours or more to win a single game. This mod is evolving on a weekly basis and new features are added all the time!

Good news, the new "Graphics paging" option saves about 30% of RAM memory usage (with bigger maps, more RAM saving), and it should remove virtually all MAF errors. It replaces the Viewports system. This system can be activated in BUG Options screen. It should be auto-activated by default. There should NOT be any crashes (besides MAFs) also recently there has been some crashes to desktop, but that's all you have to do is use autosave and use FIRST entry there and then everything should be fine (just glitches is all), i have looked and looked trying to make it as stable as possible, but if there is pls report and we will try to figure it out and let me know, thx. We listen to all player ideas and suggestions, and our goal is to continue our tradition of making the best possible megamod for Civilization 4. We believe in the power of community and our forum is our own little civilization with hundreds of thousands of valuable posts from players all around the world. This mod is updated almost daily and we encourage the use of SVN to get the latest "pre-release". We would like to say thanks to all the players who have supported us over the years.

Hi, thanks for the new version. Is it possible now to finish a GEM Game on Marathon or Snail gamespeed?

Yes
This version has graphic paging mechanism that saves a lot of RAM and prevents MAF errors.

Good job!

I did not follow the discussions in forum or the developing process of this mod the last months. Do i need to change any settings after installing the mod? Or does it work automatically?

If i only have to start a game now.... guys, i would love it

I Created a Visual Tutorial on how to make an Installer. It is at the Modmods section.

Great, now can you do me a BIG/HUGE/GIGANTIC/ENORMOUS favor?

Go back to AND and look at Afforess NSIS installer, he has ALOT of scripted stuff, that i'd like to do in ours, like separating certain things, and asking people if they want certain stuff to be added for THEIR preferences. thx . . . SO

I'll look into it, we can so have custom backgrounds, icons, and options in the form of check boxes.

I highly recommend we send out a Patch with any new SVN changes that we do by the end of the week, like fixes and that pink button in Carpentry that I am going to make. It can be called Patch 33.1 and I can make an Installer for it in 10 minutes from 6161 till whenever. The reason is it gives players confidence that their game is up to date and bugs are being fixed. Give the word when ready and I'll get it done.

Looks like our original post in this and ideas/discussion main thread got upgraded :goodjob:
