Caveman 2 Cosmos

2. Bards are cheaper in hammers than the stories they can build, so build bard then use it to build story. Or just reduce the cost of stories (or increase cost of bards) so that they're equal to avoid excessive clicking.

This is as intended. Bards come much later than the buildings and are for catch-up. They represent the fact that the building should be much cheaper in the later era. Or you could just wait until you have Entertainers and build one Stories building in a city with the Story to get the effect in all your cities.

I tend to build the Story buildings with subdued animals in cities that need the education and then save the corresponding subdued animal to build the Stories there later. If I can't do that I will wait until I get the Entertainer in the later era.

3. Tamed animals used to build buildings is a cool way to help out smaller/newer cities; but getting a (relatively) expensive carnival for a cheap animal may be too much. Once I get a Tamer built I never have to build another carnival even for advanced cities.

Again as designed. You could have built the carnival with a cheaper subdued animal. The tamer is a bit more expensive way to build the buildings that the subdued animals built.

I am only about half way through changing the tamed animals, some are a bit easier to get than intended still. If you did not build the buildings necessary you wont be able to build the tamed animal. It is part of the way to get the AI to use the subdued animals in their cities.

Noticed that too. However, I think it's kinda interesting because the buildings open up before the bards do (long before) and only a clever player will really see the value in waiting to build them until they can just pump out bards.

I Admit i never really compared the costs, but i do use Bards from Core Cities (cities that have nothing much to do) to just build all the buildings they can build in all the cities, Saving also time in those cities not having to waste hammers and thus time getting a Core City,
Although Several buildings cannot be done by Bards, Raptors being one, Forgot the rest

Bards are Officially my most build unit Ever in Any game I've played, Probably I've built more Bards then Healthcare AND Police combined  I'm Very grateful i can pump out Several Bards at a time and not 1 a turn ;)

Probably all the Taxonomy opened animal group of buildings. The Myths need to be built first. I am thinking of changing that.

We do want to change the way the Story Teller line work so that eventually they will not be one shot uses. We already have a prototype in game of this with the "Entertain City" mission, sometimes the unit survives and gets a promotion that lets them survive more often.

The Great Hunter should also be able to build a number of Story/Stories buildings at once with a "Write Memoirs" mission where they provide up to say 10 new story buildings in a city or two Stories. Or maybe something totally different such as what Sir David Attenborough" has been doing since the sixties, first in books and now as video series.

I hope there also could be found a way of hiding buttons that aren't clickable, It's one thing to click 300 times on a button, it's another having to scroll (and sometimes scroll out of the map) through a long long list,

There are ways of hiding some of them in the options but not all. The reason we don't have all of them hidden is because sometimes having it there but "greyed out" is because it shows some useful information. The Great Prophet-Holy Shrine one is one I always find useful because it tells me which shrines I have not built. I could fix that with a "Go to city and build Holy Shrine" mission but who has the time:lol:.

Writing from memory so maybe completely wrong.

Things like "The story of xxx, can not be built in cities with Stories of xxx." are most annoying.

When playing initially and looking more closely at this feature, what does this mean.

Move to another city and try again or slaughter the animal as it is no longer usefull. If the latter it should not be displayed as an option - even if grayed out. IMO.

It means that the Stories of xxx are pseudo national wonders. And yes I also find it annoying but the place to do the hiding is that bit of interface code that is 7000+ lines long that I am slowly working my way through trying to make it smaller by hiving off code into an object that represents the screen object

I Understand that you cannot turn them into a National Wonder due to it then hogging up all the Slots (except when you have the game option that disables that [i use it because i dislike the Wonder limit]),
Wouldn't it be possible that it grants another slot? though I'm stating this without any prior knowledge on the mechanic

Not possible. That is why I developed pseudo national wonders.

Shame, it would've made a lot of lives a lot easier if it did,

Is there a city placement tool in the game? I thought i remembered there being something like that, but i don't remember how to get to it.

City Placement tool? I know you can place cities in World Builder under the Buildings tab where you can also find Units and Technology,
It probably would also be a nice idea if someone could Debug the World Builder at one point, the City Editor screen will crash you when you edit Culture, and the Free Specialists isn't working at all

DH has responded to this already in another thread. Platyping's version of WB that C2C uses needs to be Updated to Platyping's newest version and then adapted to C2C. Will take sometime, iirc, from what DH posted.

Harrier has brought up that to update his maps he has to use a SVN version from March of this year. Reason, Platyping's WB changes were adopted into C2C around that time, if I understand what DH has posted about it. And DH has Too Much on his Plate atm and has some RL issues he's dealing with too.

So overall WB in C2C is not the standard BtS WB and has not been for some time. And any changes will take time.

I Knew they had a Custom version of the WB, I hadn't seen that post from DH, and if indeed only 1 modder can update and fix it then i understand it will take time, For me it doesn't matter That much, as i rarely use it,

I'm not an Aussie, but that was amusing. :)
