CCM (epic mod) preview thread

Wow! This mod looks great! With all the new graphics it is almost like a Civ III expansion! Excellent work Civinator! :goodjob:

Thanks Gary. :) But with the current victory-screen for the spacerace I´m not quite contend as I nearly had to double the image and my be to unsharpen it in accordance to the old Civ 3 style was not the best treatment.

Has anybody an image of the Apollo XI confetti-parade through New York about the size 1024 x 768? Otherwise may be I have to do a better victory screen.

I like that one a lot. Is the Churchill LH the one made by ccm01? (what a coincidental name!) Does he look better in proportion on the foreign adviser screen?

OH wow! This is just what Ive been waitin for and Im really happy its Civinater bringin the much needed evolution of our Rise n rule or refined 'Conquests' type (Balancer Far Horizons etc. )

It will be like a summery of many advances in graphics and new units raked over with fresh new ideas for better implimentation for eliminating breaker ailments and filling in game hinderence scattered along green feild of civ fun

So Thanks Mr. Civinater. Man we really needed an injection administered to such a degree we risk addiction with fat doses of refined concentrate realism and strategy. I sence an upgrade to the whole mod mentality.
Like a 3rd xpak done Best Buy right yet with a $zero$ sticker price. Nice!

All the best on a project so staggering in levels of brightest ambition only one in tune with adv. Civmodics could ever measure to the test. You bet no matter the time Im away, be it night or day, you'll see me here come ribbon ceramony for the opening 'Test Play' : )

againsttheflow, it is the Churchill LH by CCM01. I like the LH, so Jorde´s Churchill is nice, too. And I´m glad you like the new spacevictory-screen. The German civer PaGe had a nice idea to improve that screen even more.

T.A JONES, thank you for your kind words. :) I hope we will get a lot of good C3C Epic mods in the next time, amongst them of course ronning´s epic mod.
May be the opening day for the open public beta-test of CCM is nearer than you are thinking. :)

The Storm over Civ-site (SOC) gave me a big forum to host CCM, at present only visible for the SOC-staff. So here it is possible for me, to inform you in different sub-forums about special topics of CCM and to discuss with you about these different topics of CCM at the same time in different threads. This is a dream for a modder like me. :) In the screenshot attached I give you a view on things you normally can´t see yet.

This teaser of the Age of Discovery-techtree shows, that CCM makes full use of the enhanced techtree methode (here you can read more about it:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=181605).

The techtree of that era shows a lot of info-icons. The icons with the grey-green background show directly in the techtree that saltpeter is available with gunpowder and coal with steampower. The blue ship-icon in the navigation tech-box shows the new ability to safely cross seas and the other in the exploration tech-box the new ability to cross safely oceans. The money icon in the economics tech shows the doubling of wealth improvements, the 2x worker icon in the steampower techbox shows the doubling of the worker rate, the icons with the light-blue background in the printing press techbox show the new diplomatic options of map- and communication trading. In the imperialism techbox you can see the appearance of the new specialist policeman and the new option of unit conscription. Additionally please note the appearance of different buildings for different religions in the same techbox.

I think it´s time to show another teaser of CCM. A small thingie with a huge impact to gameplay for single-player-games:

The only flavor in CCM is the "AI-flavor". Each Civ in CCM has that flavor. If the civ is played by the AI, this is a good methode to point the AI to build early a special important building (mostly a building that autoproduces important units). With this trick also the build-often-settings for civs can be reduced and the remaining settings gain more weight for the AI.

And CCM has big early fleets. In prebetatests AI stucks of 30 early ships (and more) were observed. These ships were all not autoproduced by the AI.

Just curious, what level did you set the relationship of AI Flavor to itself?

To 100 %. This setting mostly works to force the AI to build the improvements it should build early. The only exception I observed was when the AI decided to build early wonders. The improvement "worker houses" for instance is such a crucial improvement for the gameplay of CCM.

Moosezilla, thank you for the interest in CCM. :) At present you can´t see the CCM-Forum at the Stormoverciv Site (SOC) as it is still invisible for the public. It will become fully accessible to the public when the public betatestings are started. In the moment only SOC-staff has access to these forums, but as you can see even with these few persons there is a lot of traffic in the prebetatest-forum.

I hope at the end of November or in December public betatestings of CCM can be started. I will give you a note in this thread, when the CCM-Forum is accessible for the public.

So I haven´t talked here about any of the decisive changements in gameplay for CCM yet, I can say, the "only-one-more-turn-feeling" for Civ 3 is back, even with the prebetatestings of CCM.:) Edited: Here is a part of a statement from a CCM-prebetatester given today:
"Well I do not know what you did but you are right I could not stop playing before I knew it the sun was coming up and I had played all night long."

Although Civinator aka Blue Lion allready answered your question I did see the contact bot post concerning this and now I do not need to e-mail you.
Civinator I just have to say the improvements you made are wunderbar :goodjob:

Thank you all for your kind words.:) And Plotinus, a lot of your settlers and workers are in CCM. :)

I think it´s time to show another teaser, the CCM-techtree of the Industrial Ages. In that techtree you can see a lot of new autoproducing buildings (per example the Royal Navy and the US Pacific Fleet).
