CCM1 (epic mod)

Thank you both for the report and the link. :) For the next upload the Leo 1 is replaced now by the fixed version.

Cool glad to see you still refine this gem. This is the only mod Ive ever played back to back to back. Again pedia details must have been a reason. I bet it was incredibly time consuming but man its worth it for giving off that' store bought' quality in completness feel. I swear this epic 'mod'sterpeice comes in as better then a 3rd expansion pak and the pedia is one big reason.

Most mods never take on the pedia disciptions challenge with all their new additions. Id say this is quite the acheivement on your part since your new content is staggering

OK heres some more refinments
The "Handleypage Bomber" says it upgrades to the "Douglas A-20 Havoc". IT does not upgrade to anything. The "upgrade" feature is unchecked in the editer on this unit( I suppose thats why it don't work?)
Anyway again thanks for extending the civ3 legacy

I agree that the pedia can break a mod. I have had many hair pulling moments in some of the others. Things not explained and many that were had errors that made a huge impact.

It is not like C3C that has some fairly minor errors, some mods made it hard to play. Here is quite good and getting corrections still.

Bug report:
I might still have mixed up files. I am Israel and I tried to stealth attack a USA warrior. It gave me a message saying it would cause a war.

@barbslinger

If you attack the enemy with an invisible unit that's inside a city, it will cause war. Unfortunately the SI can attack without a declaration

That US warrior was in MY city not his. 1st ring right next to it, not his warrior in his city. I was worried he was going to declare so I thought I would use the stealth bowman.

Hi barbslinger, of course an attack by a bowman causes war as this type of unit is no HN-unit. :) All attacks by units on another civ trigger war (if you don´t still are in war with that civ) with the exception of HN-units. For example enslavers and holymen are HN-units.

I guess I don't understand stealth unit definition. Is that where you can choose which unit to attack out of the stack? I just looked at .biq help. I didn't know definition of stealth.

Yes, I do - and the next upgrade will be huge. There will be a new mainfile to download for CCM and you have to save your old textfiles, if you want to finish your old CCM games as this can´t be done with the new ones any longer.

Here is a screenshot of my "To-Do-List" for CCM betatest 1.5. It´s only from page 1 of many pages. I show that screenshot, so you all can see, that your remarks and suggestions are noted by me (of course also some new ideas by myself):

I thought, this was Balancer reloaded.

rhodie will be glad to read this. :) He is responsible for all good things in the civilopedia, I´m responsible for the few bad things in it. :D But rhodie is also doing some other things for CCM. Per example yesterday he mailed me more than 30 new modern ship sounds for the next version of the CCM mainfile, some of them supervisioned by Vuldacon. :)

This is a harcoded feature of C3C. Therefore it was changed for the last versions of the CCM betatest-biqs. It seems, you are playing with an older version of the biq. :) But it isn´t necessary to download version 1.4 of that biq, as I hope, that version 1.5 will be available soon. :)

Anyway again thanks for extending the civ3 legacy

Thank you for the kind words. :) I also want to have an enjoyable version of civ, as it seems, Firaxis has lost the sense for it, looking only for commerce by ugly 3d-engines.

I've noticed (though it's the same for all that have them) that Privateers really suck in combat. I know they're not meant to be stand up to ships of the line or whatnot, but losing to ancient ships just seems a bit odd.

@ Civinator: What were/are your plans regarding the sea/air trade? I ask because I know that was a pretty well talked subject for quite awhile.

Thank you all for the kind comments regarding the Civilopedia. To my mind, no mod would be complete without a fully detailed Civilopedia and clear, understandable content makes play more enjoyable. Civinator created the initial explanatory draft and added things as his great mod evolved. I tried to make everything easier to digest and spent over a year researching and editing most of the historical details from Wikipedia and other sources before the first CCM version was published. Thanks to suggestions and comments of the beta players, the Civilopedia continues to evolve and improve.

Started a new game, as France. Having great fun as usuall, the historian/fan in me cried when I saw the Somua and not the B1Bis. Ah well, can't have everything :)

For the B1Bis you have to wait until the release of SOE, what will be in a longer time. :)

The B1Bis was a tank in smaller numbers - about the same numbers as the Pz IV in Germany in 1939. So in CCM in early WW II, Germany only has the Pz III and France the Somua. In the early stages of prebetatesting Russia at that time had the T-26, but I gave them the early T-34, as this really was an outstanding tank in big numbers and Russia even at that time had a massive tank force.

As you say, one can´t have everything. :)

I hope soon you can see it. :)

This is the new symbol in CCM for walled cities in era 3 and 4.

It was used in old German landmaps for fortresses or fortified cities. I don´t know if it is common in other countries, too.
