CCTP Tech Tree Development & Discussion

Well I am about a 3rd of the way through sorting the PreReq's into Eras, probably wont finish them tonight, they are taking longer than the techs did! You can have the files if you want them in thier current state, does not effect gamplay ect. Just the Technology_PrereqTechs.sql is not fully sorted.

Got as far as Industrial with the PreReq's, included the flavor's as an sql too although I have not got aroud to that yet :)

Edit:

If your going to resort them by catagory not sure how it like the ID's not in order, changing the ID's doesnt seem to have and adverse effect ingame/logs.

Cheers

Is surprising how much better it actually looks in the sql format compared to the xml :D.

I prefer it over xml, so much easier to adjust and change things, without the massive files :)

If you dont have SQLite manager(or similar program) for firefox I recommend you get it. Easier to edit in there than modbuddy, although it does require you to loaded the sql's into the database first, via a mod booted with civ, doesnt seem to have an import feature like it does export, which is what I use to create them sql's. I use a copy'd Civ5DebugDatabase in a diff folder for editing.

And now begins the rethinking on the tree tech categories  surprising how much has changed since i was working on the breakthrough tech idea :crazyeye:

Attached is the Settler and Nomad page (changed land and Sea). I am sure there's a ton of balancing issues with my placings for chrome to work on

Also just in case anyone is wondering, all the missing units and TXT is just because this is my test mod with all that stuff removed, so it loads quick :).

So I just tried the categories (was working on another game first :mischief:); very, very good job. The layout is extremely well laid out; can't wait to get this to the masses :D

I got a PM :D. It was only the Ancient and Classical eras. I thought you received it too.

Hmmm...fixed. Check your PM. And to everyone else, it's not that we want to be secretive :nya:; it's just that things need to be tested and stuff first. Right now it's in a rough stage (no icons, no text, no buildings). Soon it will be ready, promise :D

Thanks, glad you both like it :D

Been a little busy today so not much progress, hopefully should be back at it tomorrow and can get the rest of the techs placed.

For historical accuracy Pottery should come before agriculture, but both should be researched automatically. However, this would be a break with Civ tradition, and pottery only really started to take off after agriculture, so it's a bit of a debate.
