Well, the move helped keep numbers stable, definitely, even if there's been a bit of a decline in quality/realism lately.

But I think there are efforts forming among the older generation(s) to combat that.

So you disliking my graphical SNES? or Excavation? :mischief:

I post now

With keyboard strikes, my name's engraved
And counted now among the saved.

(shrug) I have no idea what FFH is but it certainly isn't why I came here. Fulton is a friend of mine and he pointed me to here when he began to mod his own NESs beginning with that Warhammer 40K one.

I'd been involved in various other forum run games and even spent several years with a Star trek story driven game that was done completely via email. I've done a few games where you play as nations and all that, which I believe is what Abaddon feels is a proper NES. Indeed I've seen some so complex and so rigidly realistic that you pretty much had to give up your life just to play them.

So far the only nation-states style NES I've played in these forums are the ones Fulton has made. I'm not saying that others aren't good, indeed many have very intriguing ideas and good writers. But I think nation stories aren't really my cup of tea. I'm having a much better time writing for a single character (i.e. in Dr.NES by Dreadnought) then I do when having to write for a whole nation.

Otherwise, I tend to lurk a lot and read what many of you have written. A lot of it is very well done too.

The "stickiness" is only temporary. In a week or so I will turn it loose.

Why is this stickied!? It's a temporary survey of the population.

Because if it isn't successful, we get to execute our new NESing Minister for Propaganda Abby.

I think the Census should include which type of NESes you do - it seems a good proportion of the NESers I don't know are FFHers. And they have this habit of sticking to themselves. Join our mainstream ones! We won't eat you! :p

Do not question the stickiness of this thread by our great and powerful Popekinglordkaiserpresidentminister

You shall be smitten.

What's FFH?

FFH or Fall from Heaven is a excellent dark fantasy mod for Civ IV designed by Kael. The world it is set in was originally a D&D game world which Kael modded and various characters have made their way into the mod. I cannot remember much more at the moment but if you want to know more go to its sub-forum.

I hope the large number of FFH NESers begin to try out more mainstream NESes. They could provide a good boost to activity if they broadened their horizons a little. But still, it's cool to see how many NESers there are. Some faces I see here I've only seen once or twice.
Well, FFH NES provides a setting that doesn't require much knowledge of history, so it's pretty easy to jump in. A Fresh start NES would probably too, but more historical NESes can look frightening at times.

Agreed- many of these people are not exactly active- but they have a tangible presence. However, I don't recognize any of the bolded people here:
