CFC members collaboration chance!

Just clearing something up: Should we create a link for each forum or just a sub-heading?

Think I fixed the referance prob.

Well, I believe that its wrong so far.... :mischief:

It was originally a bbs (?) forum, and only migrated to the vbulletin-style in 2000. Could be wrong though.
:(

Maybe I'll go and create a whole heap of headers instead, get some organisation happening. Goodness knows that everything will be done on it by tommorow.

Sorry - I was being a bit harsh.

There aren't too many people who know the full history, but TF, Lefty, smash & matrix do - hopefully they will drop by.

I believe it started as a UBB bulletin board, but was then migrated to vBulletin.

In terms of interesting points of 'history', I believe that the concept of the 'demogame' was conceived here. GOTM conept too, maybe, although less sure of that.

Originally catered to Civ1 & 2. First big influx of members arrived just prior to and during release of Civ3. Subsequent influx arrived for Civ4.

No need to apologise. Seems the inability to display emotion over the internet has struck again :)

I made some titles :D

Okay, who deleted all the games that I wrote in?
I can't find what you are talking about in the history

EDIT - nevermind, they're there now

They never got saved before. I made them again, though.

Some thing like an announcement wont work, then guests and such would flood it...
Or you can put it in your sig :yup:

Keep it simple, and just one link to the top-level forum. That's how I'd do it.

Maybe i am thinking too simple (wouldn't be the first time!), but some parts of the "About Us" page could make a skeleton of the history section:

About CivFanatics

Founded in March of 2000, Civilization Fanatics' Center is a veteran fan site dedicated to the best turn-based strategy game series of all time, Sid Meier's Civilization.

In the Good Old Days...

In the beginning, CivFanatics was a small personal homepage hosted by Geocities (1998) and then at Xoom (1999). The old site title was Civilization Fanatics' Page, part of the Thunderfall Impressions site. After we moved the site to Strategy Gaming Online in March 2000, the site was renamed to Civilization Fanatics' Center. The CivFanatics site you see today really started after the move because server space is no longer a problem. We didn't have a downloads section and forums before the move.

Apolyton's mentions the demogame. You better write about CFC being the birthplace of the Demogame. :)

Hmm, can't resist the urge to write about NES'es there.

Also, CFC is the birthplace of the Never Ending Stories. ;)
