Man Pittsburgh really broke Carolina didn't they?
The Bears and Seahawks both would have the Wildcard spots over them.
Winning 2 out of the next 4 gets Chicago to 10-6, then you just have to let the chips fall where they may. However, if they can win 3, they are guaranteed the division win and the playoffs. The Viks and Seahawks seem to be the only real wildcard contenders... they are in the best position by far to snag the spots.
Even assuming that Chicago only wins 2, the Vikings would still have to win out to pass them. I mean its easy to give them the Detroit and Miami games... but the Seahawks game in Seattle is not going to be a gimme, especially since Seattle's playoff hopes are very much alive, given the Packers and Panthers implosions... and even if they manage to beat Seattle, they still have to face Chicago in a do-or-die regular season finale.
I'd say the Bears are in a much better situation. The Vikings essentially have to win out, while the Bears have 2 losses to give. The Panthers would have to win out and they can't because they still have to play the Saints twice. The Redskins could have theoretically got to 10-6 if they had Smith but its not happening now. The Eagles have too many tough road games left to win out and they aren't likely to beat the Rams AND the Texans, so they're probably toast.
I won't deny that the Bears are in the better Situation. But Please, Please don't have it come down to the final week of the season in Minny.
Especially since it's possible that it will determine who has Home field for the game the following week.
While we've been given Hope, we're used to having it dashed on the rocks.![]()
I feel like a marlin approaching the end of a long bad day.
Speak for yourself. Every week I find myself down another notch. Maybe the season will end before I bottom out.![]()
