I thought it looks more like a pomelo to me .. every mango I've ever seen was green and red.

in western countries you only get the horsehockey ones, sadly. imagine never having eating a watermelon and only having access to like... cantaloupe and musk. what a sad world.

yellow ones are the common ones in SEA and they have a stronger taste, a hint of honey and a better, less stringy texture imho. in India or Pakistan you can prolly find an even bigger variety of man joes.

In the old days of CFC, most of us changed our avatars with some regularity. Multiple times a year. I believe this had an affect on lurkers from the main civ game subforums: every time they lurk over to OT it looked sufficiently new and dynamic that they could jump into the mix. But as most of us have mostly kept our avatars consistent, the lurkers see the same people doing a fair bit of rehashing. Looks uninviting. The more you post in OT the more you should switch every once in a while.

I use this avatar on other forums I frequent so that people know it's me. My name here is different from the other forums I go to. I know I could put in a request at CFC to get a name change but I identify with this name here as CFC was the very first online forum I joined in my life.

I have had the same avatar since...2005 or so? At this point changing it would just ruin a fine tradition.

I can't remember my first avatar circa 2003. Maybe Civ3 Montezuma, followed by the ichthys symbol, followed by the "Civilization Addicts Anonymous" avatar, which was a thing going around in the Civ3-2004 days. As I remember mine used the Civ3 Templar image. Then I switched to Frank and never changed, except during Christmas when on the old CFC I'd switch to a version that had Frank wearing a Santa hat, made by Mistfit. (I remember this because screenshots had "Thanks to Mistfit for the avatar! -- the T was evidently very important.

I did change my avatar recently, it's a recreation of a mural in central Christchurch which no longer exists, but I always liked it and wondered about its meaning. (Turns out it was an advertisement for a local children's author's book...)
