[RD] Charlie Kirk assassinated

Probably, but also probably not before checking out a couple of clips. Guess we'll see if they agree they're as horrible as some people say.

Do you agree with Charlie Kirk that we should repeal the civil rights act?

See the wild thing about me is that I can do a couple of things that I think many folks here struggle with:

1. I can do a modicum of research and see if a guy, for example, really hates empathy like the soundbite says, or if he actually said he prefers sympathy; and
2. I can find common ground with him on other stuff even if I don't agree with him on everything.

Haven't really looked and seen what his take is on the civil rights act but I'll bet it doesn't boil down as simply as you'd present with a yes/no question, and even if I disagreed with his take, there's still point 2 above.

I'm just asking if you agree or disagree with the following:

The moderate normie checked out on this issue days ago

Upon asking the moderate normie right for comment, the Post discovered that the moderate normie right had been locked in a closet and starved to death in 1993

So I asked AI to help me find the full length text or audio of what your article is referring to and it couldn't. If you have it, I'll read it and let you know.

Why are you asking AI for stuff that I already did the work of putting in front of you? Do you lack confidence in your ability to read?

Well see the thing is I skimmed your article and saw it quoted him a few times, but I want the full length text because an author can selectively quote people however they like to make the point they'd like. Not exactly an uncommon thing. So I was trying to find the full-length unedited text to see if the author did a fair job or not. This doesn't seem like an unreasonable request on my part but take your jabs as you do.

This is derived from Wired reporting that was confirmed on the record by Kirk, as quoted in what I shared. This is a great microcosm of our time though: even as Charlie Kirk and TPUSA trumpeted their opposition to civil rights and MLK, even as your fellow right-winger in this thread just goes "yep I agree with Charlie Kirk that the civil rights act was bad", you find a way to throw up your hands and pretend it's just unknowable without more context.

Here's the Wired article. I don't expect it to change your mind, I present it simply so others can see just how absurd it is that you're pretending Kirk's view on this is not known to us.

There is really no need for conspiracy theories to put the right piece in the right place. When anything can mean whatever you want it to mean and everything can be made to support your next action, why actually hire an assassin?

When every random event can be used however you want, all you need do is wait because you can be sure one will be along very soon.

Sir, you have nearly 34,000 posts. I barely knew who Charlie Kirk was a week ago  I assure you, I am not up to speed on everything he has said or done.

The article you linked is, again, not the actual clip of long-form quote of what Kirk said, so again, I don't know if it's a good faith representation of his position or not, especially since I'm not totally familiar with him. I'm very much one of the Americans finding his stuff now, and I don't find him generally repulsive. In fact I can find many videos where he's quite likable.

But, since you aren't going to stop, I'll say this:

“The courts have been really weak on this,” Kirk told the America Fest crowd. “Federal courts just yield to the Civil Rights Act as if it's the actual American Constitution.” The law is ultimately a way to “re-found the county” and “a way to get rid of the First Amendment,” according to Kirk.

I'd generally say the issue isn't so much with laws that manage to get passed and signed into law, but with judges who broaden language and don't apply the laws as originally intended. I very much believe we'd be better off with constitutionally conservative (note: not morally conservative), strict constructionist judges, if such a thing could be found, even if the delay in change would drive all of you omnipotent types mad.

The point is not that you are expected to know everything about Charlie Kirk, the point is that I gave you a credible source on this one claim, a source whose reporting was also confirmed by Kirk himself.
