The Amurites
People of the Wand

"The Amurites were a tribe of peoples brought together by the great archamge Kylorin during the Age of Ice.Under his leadership they defeated Charadon the Mighty and eventually the God of Winter, Mulcarn. Kylorin's time among these peoples led to many offspring, all of whom inherited their father's talent for the Arcane. When Kylroin left to slay Mulcarn almost every Amurite had basic magical abilities, creating a magrotic society, one led by mages.

As time past, the Amurites were driven from their lands by the orcs, and wandered into a new land, far from the Letum Frigus and the Illians. They setttled the grand city of Cevedes along Glory Coast, an area heavily inhabited by small dwarven tribes.

Two grand leaders rose up among this tribe, Valledia the Even and Dain the Caswallan. Valledia was queen by a mixture of political savy and sorcery. Dain was the greatest mage, or Caswallan, and wielded complete power over the mage guilds which dotted the lands of Amur.

To the east of Cevedes lay an ancient Dwarven trading post, once part of the Kraz-Ke-Zun empire. It was abondoned when it's inhabitants fled to the underhome. The dwarven residents were surprised when a Lizardman clan moved in as well. Initial relations were strained, but war eventually broke out in the cavernous lands. This war, called the War of the Axe, continued on until the end of the Age of Ice. During a particularly violent battle the surface opening collapsed.

Soon after the settling of Cevedes, a intrepid Amurite scout named Asrius discovered the old abandoned town, and cleared the rubble near the entrance, hoping to find a vast treasure horde or trapped prophets who could divine the future. Instead he was welcomed by a bang, an axe lying past his head, and several lizardmen knocking him unconcious. The dwarves, known as the House of Tarrin, rescued Asrius and nursed his wounds. They explained the situation of the war, and pleaded for Amurite help. Asrius concocted an ingenious plan to escape and reseal the cave, leaving the Lizardmen to be trapped forever.

This plan was interrupted when the Lizardman elder had the same plan. The battle was hard, and Asrius was a casualty of the final battle, but two dwarven regiments finally arrived in Cevedes. One was led by the dwarf prince, Lord Tarrin. Tarrin led his people since his father died in battle. The other regiment was commanded by Karius the Bold was the cgeneral of the Dwarven forces in the war, and slew many hundreds of lizardmen. The lizardmen escaped to the east, but were hunted down by the Dwarven regiments, who now owed fealty to Valledia.

These dwarves scouted east and west, discovering Yggdrasil, as well as numerous tribes of dwarves and humans. The Amurites decided to begin their expansion. Little could they know about the hardships that would face them and their short allies.
