Cities in Development (Obsolete)

Atlantis event
Fort New Beijing sinks to the bottom of the ocean, causing great inconvenience.
The city suffers -30:c5production: per turn
Choice 1: Open the city to tourists, generating 10:c5culture: and 5:tourism: per turn
Choice 2: Send scientists to investigate, generating 25 :c5science: per turn

One can dream :mischief:

I think that that city would lose a lot more than just 30 production per turn :P.

It's in My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\JFD's Cities in Development (v 38)\Components\Loyalty\Lua\JFD_CID_Loyalty_Functions.lua, about 130. It currently is calculated at the city's population divided by 4. Change the 4 to whatever you see fit. Separatist should be giving out units already.

Thank you, JFD! Thank you so much! :) I wish I could express my gratitude :D

For some reason, the following errors pop up, anytime I play with this mod
Cannot activate [notificationeventorange.dds]
Cannot activate [notificationeventglow.dds]
Cannot activate [notificationcityeventorange.dds]
Cannot activate {notificationcityeventglow.dds]
I have Yet Not Another Earth Map Pack, events and decisions, EUI, Enlightenment era, cultural diversity, info addict, historical religions, and ethnic units mods on
Do any of these conflict with CID or would it just be the computer

Alright well, I can't figure this out, been reading and reinstalling all of your mods and what not (JFD), but jeeze I just don't know.

1. Have the decisions been removed? As in the panel to access them is missing (or not in its usual place). I'm talking the one that allows Rome to introduce concrete or the universal Codify Laws, or even all religious based decisions?

2. I have never had the option to found a fort colony with a Great General. How do they work? The in game help menu doesn't say. Is it a technology that's needed that I've overlooked?

Sorry if I'm just a dumb n00b, I'm pretty computer stupid. As Oddball said, "I only ride in em, I don't know what makes em work"

1. Decisions are a feature of Sukritact's E&D, and so you need to be using his mod to access them. I'm guessing you know this, however, as you obviously had it working once - I just wanted to cover my bases. But CID has nothing really to do with Decisions - it used to, involving a bit of an overhaul (Dignitary/Magistrate split, if this is something you recall), but that stuff was moved to my Rise to Power mod.

That being said, the Decisions Panel will show up in one of two places, depending upon whether you're using Enhanced User Interface or not. The first, if you're using EUI, is that it'll appear as a button along the top-right corner. The second, if you're not using EUI, is that it'll appear in the drop-down menu which can be accessed by clicking the button with the Scroll which is similarly found along the top-right corner. See in the screenshot here, where this is located next to the Social Policies button.

If this doesn't help, please post a screenshot of what your screen looks like in-game.

2. There should be a button similar to the ones you get for other Great People. It is not dependent upon technology or anything else. Where its located will depend, again, on whether you're using EUI or not. A screenshot here would also help, to see whether you're missing it, or if something is messing up.

Any plans on fixing that red and white checkered skin on the Great Doctor model though?

It's an incompatibility with your graphics card. I can't do anything about that, unfortunately.

I know this is a late response, but I was having the same problem, and then inspired by discussions in this thread, I switched from DX9 mode to DX11, and:

It works! :D (The Corsair, from MC's Buccaneers mod, is there because it also had the same checkerboard.)

Ok, so I got a chance to try out the most recent versions of everything (well not everything, but I did get to try out your mods :p) and I've noticed a few minor things:

1. My second city didn't show...well the city. It's a blank field where the city should be. Couldn't see if it was happening to other civs.

2. For some reason, after I checked off one of the events (I made sure to disable the old ED events), the sound that plays in city-view (The random chatter, sound effects, etc) wouldn't stop playing endlessly on loop. Didn't go away after I tried re-entering city-view.

3. It turns out that that one bug I've been having with the interface wasn't caused by ExCE, but apparently by either CiD or RtP. I'm not sure which, since I tried a test game with both enabled. All my icons when selecting what my units do, like heal, move, do nothing, found city/religion, etc, have the inner part jutting out, and the border is way smaller than it should be. It's like the borders were shrunk down but the icons themselves weren't. Not game-breaking, but it's kind of weird.

4. A while back, you said you could re-enable the cinema in the user settings, right? Sorry to pester about this, but how do I re-enable it?

Also, I have logs, but I don't remember which one's you need. I can give them to you tomorrow (I don't get back till like 7-8). Again, thanks for all the work you put into this. I'm really curious as to how corporations will work.

1. Lua logs help me here. Also, specify if you're using EUI.
2. That'll be a bug with CP: Events, as I haven't added any yet. Do you remember what event it was, perhaps?
3. Issue 1. might help diagnose this, but I can't really visualize what you're saying.
4. In the JFD_UserSettings.sql file, find this line:

Code:
--('JFD_CID_HAPPINESS_BUILDING_ADDITIONS_CINEMA', 1), -- Adds the Cinema to Atomic Theory.

Remove the two dashes at the front, so it looks like this:

Code:
('JFD_CID_HAPPINESS_BUILDING_ADDITIONS_CINEMA', 1), -- Adds the Cinema to Atomic Theory.

Seeing as Jan's back, once his production queue is empty, I may talk with him about adding a real Cinema icon, so that I'm comfortable with re-enabling it.

Oh! I thought you meant the city banner was missing, but maybe you meant the actual city graphic? i.e. the buildings and whatnot that should appear on the tile are missing. In that case, I don't think it's a CID issue, as that'll be caused by a poorly defined building model, and CID doesn't try to add any. What buildings were in the city, assuming you were still able to access it?

Great Magistrates are disabled when E&D is disabled, aren't they? Why can't you make it so that they'll still be available, along with the Magistrate specialists, but just without the ability to create Magistrate resources? Since some civs (*Cough*MC*Cough*) don't have E&D, it seems a shame that CID features will be missing unnecessarily. That, and the fact that the change should probably be made sooner rather than later - while I'm still the only guy to have a unique Magistrate's Court :)

Yeah, I think that I'm going to allow Magistrates, the resource, to interact somehow with Sovereignty, akin to Dignitaries with Claims, so I'll want them in by default. I'll get that done for the next version.

That was a bug in CP, it got fixed (at least supposed to be) by the newest beta (April 9th).

I'll get that done for the next version.

Did you manage to narrow down the problem with the investment into units? If not, is there a way I could possibly help by lua or something?

I haven't looked into it - so I couldn't say what needs to be done. Busy, busy, busy (three essays due in a week, Constantine, Events Compendium, etc.). Sorry.
