I shall reiterate...

Some things from the screen shots:
Swordsmen, Ironclads, man of wars, Riflemen, Musket men?, Cavalry, Knights, Cannon, Tundra, Workshop?, Deer, Coal, Cotton, and Double border colors.

Possibly multiple simultaneous combats,
Possibly fog for fog of war.

The work boat near the city seems to be a whaling or fishing fleet based on what is below it in the water.

I'm happy that they saw the error in having one consolidated Native American civ, It's good to see the Iroquois again, and god willing there will be at least one more.

:hmm: That concept art of Catherine replacing the animation looks nice though... Which brings me to a little off topic question: Why do concept art in games looks so much different from actual in game models (or the other way around)?

Concept arts are only there to be used as a work basis to model the 3D elements of the game. A 3D character looks somehow cheaper than it's 2D equivalent because only the more important traits of the drawing are kept.

Often I can't see even those more important traits...

Frederick the Great was a chubby old guy during the prime of his rule. Although it would make more sense to be Washington, the picture looks like Jefferson.

I agree... when I saw the animated American leader I thought it was Jefferson until I heard him speak and say he was Washington.

This needs to be changed (Jefferson instead of Washington, or make a new Washington) because as a historian it will drive me crazy...

I hate to double post... but the religion part needs to be kept if this version is to be as realistic as they want it to be... I heard rumors that it was scrapped.

They need to have all of the religions that are featured in C4.

What would be neat is if they added evolving religions where for example one can not found Christianity because it came out of Judaism, thus in order to found Christianity one must have Judaism as the state religion.

Another feature would be historically accurate "Holy Wars" where various religious nations fight one another over "Holy Sites" / etc.

That would add some realism.

Washington looks like Jefferson and sounds like Bill Clinton. LOL:lol:

Question: Anyone know how the special abilities work? (eg. Manifest Destiny).

Also, will the bonuses from Civ 4, like "Expansionist" and "Financial" be included as well, or is that what the Special Abilities are replacing?

He really does. The Clinton voice kinda bugs me.

No all he said is that they would be showing it on Wednesday...

Heads up! Spotted new items from "Making of Civ 5 video up with animations at gamespot"
