Hmmm... I guess this means that we won't be seeing the longbowman as a regular unit then. Great, they were really annoying. :p

Gandhi looks like he's on steroids; hope he isn,t that muscley in the game.

Nice updates. My only complaint is that some of the UB's sound.. a tad generic (fur trading post, for example.)

I can't wait to hear what the special abilities do.

Yes, fur trading post is really . Never I saw or heard anything like that (worth of being UB anyways) in Russian history. Couldn't they just make a second UU? I don't know, T-34? T-90? Drunk militiaman? And special ability, "Spamming ak-47 all over the world"?

Wow no Mongols... maybe they'll come in an expansion pack or something. I cant fathom the Civ franchise without the Mongols lol.

Actually that's really fit for Russia considering that expansion in Siberia in the beginning was moved by the commerce of fur. And the commerce of this resource was really important in Russia for centuries.

I hope this is the right place to ask this,

If we download the game for steam ( i. e digital download), and say, get a new computer later, will the the game have to be rebought for the new computer or will steam save the game onto your account? I'm unfamiliar with the whole steam thing ;).

A steam account (what you will need in order to play civ5) is not tied to any particular computer. Nor is a particular game that is available on Steam. You will be able to install civ on your newer computer despite the fact you installed it on another computer. There's nothing wrong with that either. However, depending how it works with civ5, you might not be able to play the game on both computers at the same time, and you almost certainly will not be able to play multiplayer between them. (To do that you'd need at least another steam account and another purchase of the game)

Even if you only used one computer, you can uninstall and redownload the game as often as you like.

Please don't hesitate to ask any further questions you may have. Many people around here will be more than happy to answer them. :) Welcome to Civfanatics by the way. :goodjob:

You will just have to login to your Steam account and install it again. Steam allow user to install game on as many computers as he want (unlimited number of installs).

Thanks :)

But how will I install it on another computer without a disc? Will I get a file that I have to put on a USB drive or similar?

If you bought it on Steam, you'd just log into Steam from the second computer and download it again.

If you bought it on disc, you can use the disc to install it on the second computer and then log into Steam to get it active. I'm pretty sure that even if you bought it on disc, subsequently you can download it from Steam onto other computers.

If you want to try Steam, they are having a free Team Fortress 2 weekend trial right now:

Wait, what happened to the videos for some of the leaders on the website? (China, Greece, Iroquois, India, Japan, Ottomans, Persia, Rome, Russia, Siam, Songhai all had videos like America and Germany do now when I first saw that site.)

Here are the new pics for anyone who has not seen them.

http://downloads.2kgames.com/civ5/site13/images/media/screenshots/08_xl.jpg

I see gold on the far left, somewhat better river art, and multiple ship types. I also see that you may be able to work on mountains (borders reach on to mountains, and so far borders have been confirmed to expand with which tiles you are working on).

I see cannons, gunpowder units, and what seems to be flanking.

http://downloads.2kgames.com/civ5/site13/images/media/screenshots/10_xl.jpg

I see samurai like units, crossbowmen, what looks like two seperate battles going on at once, a coal- like resource on the two hills, and a blue resource in the top right.

I see deer, desert hills, and clouds that could be fog of war. Not too much new in this picture.
