CIV Gold!

If the new edition is plug and playable will there be a Lplot.xml file that includes all CIV GOLD 4.0 buildings?

Yes. Impaler going to take 4.0 and see what he can do to make those issues easier to deal with.

been talking to Impaler about it. you always hand out the full version that includes all the buildings and it will always work. So essentially if everyone who ever created a building were to add their info into ONE BIG ASS FILE! then this would act like a universal file and will never cause an issue. As for performance goes... the file wouldn't be called upon except for when it is asked for info. so no it won't slow it down by having a huge kick ass file.

Can I re volunteer my time again?

Dude, yes, absolutely. What are you doing right now? :D

Can you drop me an email and I'll fill you in on where things stand?

No worries.

In the CIV4CivilizationInfo.xml you can change PLAYERCOLOR_AUSTRIA to PLAYERCOLOR_RED (or whatever). To avoid situations where colors overlap, assign PLAYERCOLOR_AUSTRIA to the civ you take your color from (i.e. swap them).

Be advised, though, that the colour you choose affects the flag in the game.

Hey Wyz!

You said that you planned to add Denmark in the upcoming 4.0 version.
Could you tell a bit about what you're planning to do with them? Unique Units/Buildings, which cities, and such?

The Danish capital will be Copenhagen and the leader will be Christian IV. The unique unit is the Teutonic Knight, replacing the knight. And the unique building will be the Trade Union, but I haven't yet decided specifically what it will replace.

Personally I would have it replace the bank as it is an economic building, and trade unions (or guilds) have been around since the middle ages.

That sounds nice! Any idea yet what the bonusses of the unique units/buildings will be? Also, can you add more than one unique unit without making the danish overpowered? I was thinking something as a unique frigate might be a good idea, as the danish had one of the worlds strongest fleets, around the time frigates was used. (In fact, the frigate Jylland is still somewhat of a national icon)

I went with Trade Union because of their prevelance in Denmark, and we already have Riksbank for Sweden and Trading House for Netherlands.

I'm not completely against it, though, but I never thought of Denmark as a centre of finance.

For this mod, we only use 1 UU per nation. Amra's mod has 2 per nation, though. So if he decides to incorporate Denmark into his mod, he could potentially do that.

As for bonuses, they have not yet been determined.

Not knowing what you have given Sweden and the Netherlands UB's in the way of stats. I would lean towards a +1 trade route in the city its built in. This would not give the player massive bonuses but is a handy thing to have. Another option to go for would be the Grocer ( I think thats the one  or is it market? The one at Guilds) that might work even better than a bank, my only concern is that it might be too early in the tech tree, if memory serves me its alittle bit of a jump in tech cost between Banking and Guilds ( I might be mistaken;) )

To the very small topic regarding the inclusion of Denmark :mischief:
Personally, I think that the greatest of all Danish leaders was queen Margaret I. :king:
She founded the Kalmar Union and thereby made Denmark reach its heigh. Christian IV is the most popular of the Danish royals, as he finished the construction of several famous buildings. However, he was also the one that made Denmark go almost bankrupt. So I therefore think that the representation should be queen Margaret I. :D

I'll look into it, but at this point we probably won't make any big changes. Remind me again down the road.
